Tui Gardens

The Tui is enjoying the Pohutukawa flowers...

A bright and cheerful outfit just perfect for warmer weather.

For those slightly cooler evenings a cardigan can be added for a little extra warmth.

    1. Thank you Jenni, I just love this fabric, it really epitomises the beauty of the birds and flora in NZ and the other colours seem to really accentuate it. I wasn't sure the combinations of colours would quite work, but I think they do.

  3. What a pretty top - it just shows that sometimes a pattern that seems too large a scale for a doll can work really effectively if certain elements are placed carefully when cutting out the fabric.

    1. It is good to experiment with different scales occasionally - I think we can often be pleasantly surprised at what actually does work. Of course, you do sometimes have a bit of waste though when trying to incorporated certain elements. Fortunately this small piece of fabric worked well.

  4. Definitely a bright and cheerful one for the Summer months and so was pleased to see that she has decided to wear a cardigan over it until then.

    1. Sorry meant to add.....for warmth here. (NOT to cover up the lovely brightness which is a well needed tonic with the weather that we are having at the moment.)

    2. Oh indeed Kendal, it is so cold - the rain makes it feel colder as the temperatures aren't especially low. But I am cold all the time at the moment, so yes a cardigan is definitely needed.
