Some New Zealand Dresses for my own girls.

After making the dresses for sale the other day I decided I would also make my girls some (I already had some from last year) and like I did with the Christmas dresses, make enough for all of them.  Sadly some of the dresses I have sold in the past I no longer have the fabric for, so was unable to duplicate those which is a shame.

Marcia, has on 'NZ Postage Stamps'

All the stamps have something that represents the beautiful country that New Zealand is.

Alice is wearing 'Paua Shells.  Paua is used in lots of jewellery and other gifts.  It is also quite a nice shell fish and I remember as a child having Paua Fritters from the takeaway shop.

Monica is wearing the bright and colourful 'Jazzy' New Zealand animals, all animals that you can find in the wild (and not so wild) New Zealand.

Somem of the animals include the Kiwi, Pukeko, Tuatara, Wood Pigeon, Sheep, Deer, Wild Boar

Sweet Charlotte is wearing a dress representing the Silver Fern, a well known emblem of New Zealand.

My delightful Cora is wearing 'Krazy' Pukeko...her brother Caleb has a shirt made out of this fun fabric.

I really love this girl.

Sweet Mary Ellen is wearing 'Kiwis in the bush'

Meredith is wearing 'Red Koru'.  

Sadly the blue is the fabric I no longer have left...I should have thought to have made one for my girls as well as the ones I sold.

What's this on the doorstep?

Henry heard a noise out the front this afternoon and goes to investigate.

What's this?  He looks at a little case deposited on the front porch.

Is this what he thinks it says?  Does that mean... that possibly his lost Trojan Teddy has been found?

He bends down to pick up the suitcase to take it inside.

He sits down in a corner with the suitcase on his lap.

He opens the lid and who should pop out?

Yes!  It is his 'Missing in Action'  little Trojan Teddy friend.

Henry can't quite believe his eyes.

Henry stares at his little friend.

Who quietly whispers to him 'I'm home'. 

Henry leaps up and races outside.

Look everyone he cheers, Trojan Teddy has come home!

He is no longer 'Missing in Action'

Yippee, Hooray

Isn't he just wonderful?

I am so pleased to have my Trojan Teddy back home.

Henry was so worried he had lost him and even asked his Aunty Michelle in New Zealand to see if he had been left there, but there was no sign of him...and just when Henry was giving up hope, today his little Trojan Teddy was reunited with him.

Some new Kiwiana fabrics and wool

While in New Zealand I wanted to get some Kiwiana fabrics and some New Zealand wool.

This time I bought fabric designs that would hopefully suit the boys a bit more.

Just loving this selection.

The wools I bought will hopefully match the various outfits I hope to make that will be available to purchase.  

They are a combination of New Zealand Merino, Alpaca and Possom.

The wool is very soft and beautiful to knit with.  

I managed to knit a few sweaters that will form part of  complete outfits eventually.

Rory is modelling a sweater made from the variegated blues.

I love how it brings out the blue in his eyes.

James is wearing a cardigan made from New Zealand Merino - a more rugged wool and a slightly larger fit.  Still  to have the buttons sewn on.

Back to Rory again in another NZ Merino, Alpaca and Possom mix - this time variegated greens which also suit him with his red hair.

Stevie is wearing a pretty cardigan made with the variegated mauves.  Again this is waiting for the buttons to be sewn on.

Lastly, Henry wanted a green cardigan to go with some of his clothing so I made this one (not NZ yarns)
