Yamka Inspired Dress

Inspired by the dress Yamka is wearing as shown in 'Sasha Dolls The History' on page 104, I thought I would try making my own version which can be seen here modelled by Tilly Rose.

I would love to see pictures of  the original dress on 'Gypsy Girl, 1970' that Yamka's dress was derived from, but  that is apparently in Stefan Biffinger's book 'Sasha-Puppen Sasha Dolls' which I don't have.

I used 100% Irish Linen.

Just need to make her some bead necklaces and bracelets now.

  1. It looks good Lorraine, well done!
I like your model, is her hair rerooted?

    1. Yes Sharon, her hair is rerooted - I bought her from Sarah who rerooted her and then decided she didn't like her. My gain :-)

    2. Definitely your gain! She's really nice with that side part and although I'm a big fan of dolls with fringes, I think it makes a nice change to see a Sasha without one.

  2. She looks good in this dress. It is amazing how good Sashas look in very basic dresses. I've always liked Yamka best of the later Gotz, though she never comes up for sale at a price I can manage. I think it is the outfit as much as the doll.
Can't imagine why Sarah didn't like Tilly Rose, but it was a stroke of luck for you. She's gorgeous. I particularly like the sepia photo.

    1. I'm really pleased with how this came out. I managed to get some beads and necklaces today - but I am not convinced by them, thinking I may have to make my own.
