Sasha Festival Donations

I will be posting my donations for the Sasha Festival Children's Auction off to the USA on Monday.  I thought I ought to try capturing some better photos for my records.

Donation for Children’s Fund Auction, Sasha Festival 2013

A beautiful dress made in the ‘Sasha Studio’ Style from a Victorian Child's Christening Gown by Lorraine Tyler of ‘Muriel Makes’.  I made use of the beautiful handwork reminiscent of the Victorian period in the making of this dress.  There may be slight imperfections/discolouration due to the age of the fabric, but all add to the charm and ‘little bit of history’ of this lovely dress.  Dress donated by Lorraine Tyler.

This photo is 'just because' she is so pretty - the detail of the dress is lost!

Next up was the cardigan I made for joint baby outfit Marti and I made and are donating.

Next is the 'Erica Sweater'  in memory of Erica McLeod - a fellow New Zealand Sasha lover who sadly passed away earlier this year.

Both sweater and cardigan have been knitted with 100% New Zealand Merino wool.

I am also contributing to the project Rosie has organised....my outfit yet to be completed, hoping to get on to it next week as I should have more free time as my older son is off to join his ship and flies back to Sydney tomorrow.

  1. Well done Lorraine, your dress and knitted cardigan and jumper are gorgeous. I'm sure there are going to be some very happy people taking these items home with them from the Festival!

    1. Thank you Sharon. I do hope that whoever 'wins' them enjoys them as much as I enjoyed making them.

  2. You are very generous (and busy!) The white dress is a classic and beautiful...I think every Sasha lover needs one white, studio style dress, made of heirloom vintage/antique fabric- just like Sasha M. made! Someone will be very lucky! Someday I will make one...(someday, someday!)

What is the project Rosie has organized?

And yep, even older sons need our time (and we love to give it, as they are not with us as much)...

    1. Thank you for your lovely kind comments. Are you on the Sasha Mart Yahoo Group? Details are on there, otherwise email me and I can let you know :-) Unfortunately I can't email you as you are a 'no-reply' blogger and I'm not sure who you are...

    2. Hi Lorraine- I apologize...that comment was from me, Kirsten from the US! I didn't notice when I made it that I was logged in on my husband's account...so silly of me. I will look up the Rosie project on the group, since I am a member. Must have missed that one...

  3. Wow, Lorraine! Your generous donations are lovely.
Your Sasha is a beauty too. I think her twin lives here, my brunette girl is very like her.
Sending best wishes to your son for his return trip.
    Love,
    Jenni

  4. Such lovely donations to the US Sasha Festival. How very kind and generous of you.
I'm sure that they will bring in some most welcomed cash for the Children's charities.

  5. Lorraine, I meant to ask you, is your lovely girl a 'wider faced' brunette? I'm trying to recognise and differentiate between them all and find out what I really like!
