Danni arrived home from being restrung by Brenda Walton on Tuesday and I finally got round to making her a new dress to celebrate non-floppy limbs!

This is a lovely soft pin corduroy with cute little teddy bears on it.  I have a blue in this fabric as well and will make some up in both colours I think.

Autumn Pinafore Swap - Part Eight

Probably the last of the Autumn Pinafore Swap reveals.  I am showing all the pictures today that I have been sent, even though I still haven't heard if some have been received and also if some have even been sent! Please people, you may know that you have sent and received, but I don't and for the sake of keeping a good record and being a good swap partner, please let me know, it is much appreciated.  I know of at least one person who hasn't received their swap as they have contacted me, but there are still some 'gaps' where I don't know what is happening/has happened!  I am putting this on here as I haven't had any response to the emails, so if any of the participants who haven't yet contacted me, can update me that would be great! Please check the swap page here to see if 'sent and received' is marked against your name. It may be that I have missed an email, or otherwise, but it will help if I can update the page fully.  Thank you so much.

Fabulous Autumn Pinafore.

Penny used brown colour scheme as well for the pinafore she sent to Jackie.

I love the interesting edging which makes it a little different and special.

Holly was paired with Patricia S.  Holly has heard that her pinafore has been received, but unfortunately so far she hasn't received anything and is having trouble contacting Patricia as am I hence putting this on here. So if you are reading this Patricia could you please email either one of us.  Much appreciated!

Nancy and Stephanie were partners and I have recorded that both were sent, but not that Stephanie has received.  I am hoping this is just an oversight in contacting me and that you have received your pinafore Stephanie.

This is the pinafore that Stephanie sent to Nancy.  I just adore the lovely flowers - what a fun pinafore.

Geraldine and Pat were partners.  I have heard from Geraldine that she sent her swap to Pat (if I recall Pat was one of the first to get her pinafore made and posted).  Unfortunately I haven't heard if Pat has received this, I am assuming she has so I am showing the photo of the lovely pinafore that Geraldine sent to Pat.

I love the attention to detail - the cute little owl on the front pocket and the matching blouse.

All in all, I think I can say for everyone that took part that this was an incredibly fun and creative swap.  It was very enjoyable finding out what everyone made and sent to their partners and how they used their imaginations to all produce something unique and special.  I have had some wonderful feedback from participants about the fun they had making these, which is what it is all about  - having fun and giving something a little bit special and individual to a Sasha friend.

Lederhosen by Jean Jensen

A couple of weeks ago my friend Jenni sent me a couple of pictures of Harri wearing his Lederhosen made by Jean Jensen.  I thought it would be fun to put one my lads in the set we had and then combine the two together.  Well Peter arrived home a couple of days ago after being restrung by Brenda Walton and he volunteered for the job!

Harri is the wonderful lad that I organised the fundraising for as a replacement for Rhodri who was kidnapped (i.e. stolen) earlier this year.   

A Catch Up Post - Sewing, London, Gifts.

We've been without phone and internet access for the last few days - a bit like going cold turkey!  So I have been pretty incommunicado, especially as I don't have a mobile phone anymore either.  Fortunately all restored about an hour and half ago.

One thing you notice without either of these things is how much more productive you are!  Or at least I am!

Henry has a visitor arrived for a fortnight holiday with him.  You can read about it here.

I have been busy sewing the girls their Christmas dresses - all done now.  I will be working out who gets to wear what soon.  I wonder if you can guess which dress will be worn by which girl?

The Christmas dresses recently made, including some made last year, plus three others not shown in the photo.  The red corduroy, green corduroy and a black velvet and red silk dress.

I have made the boys Christmas waistcoats, which I finished today while waiting for the BT Engineer to come out.

Again I wonder if you can guess who will be wearing which waistcoat?

Preparing for the Monday Sasha Meet Up in London, I took photos of the overalls/dungarees I made for Gayle.

Sasha kindly modelled them for me.

Sunday I made three waistcoats to give as gifts for the Sasha Meet Up in London on Monday.  

Francis got to model the waistcoats for me.

We had a fabulous day yesterday with Gayle, Dawn, Catherine and Rosie.  Lots of Sasha talk and fun and more talk!

The kids enjoyed catching up.  From left to right we have Gayles Gotz girl in green and her toddler, chatting to Rosie's gorgeous blonde lass in the blue culottes.  Henry is catching up with Charlotte, hearing all about her new home with Gayle as well as the adventures she has been on.  Dawn's lovely girl in her new coat and hat is listening on.

Seems like a lot of talk going on with these six just like the grown ups!

Henry is glad Charlotte likes her new home.  Charlotte is thrilled that she was able to meet up with Henry again after saying goodbye to him in July at the Sasha Festival in Cincinnati

Thank you ladies for a lovely day, it was such fun meeting up with you all and catching up with everything Sasha.

I also want to say a big thank you to a very special friend I have made who actually doesn't have a Sasha yet (although not for much longer!) who asked if she could make a pinafore for one of my girls.  As I couldn't take part in the swap due to not enough partners for me, I was absolutely delighted with this offer, and even more delighted when a little parcel arrived the other day and I found this most delightful pinafore inside.

Isn't this just the sweetest little pinafore.  Sasha is showing Henry, although I am not really sure what Henry thinks of it.  Oh he says it is pretty neat as it has squirrels and acorns on it.

Yes indeed it meets all our approval and delight, we simply love it and thank our dear friend very much for it indeed.

Lastly I want to show the fabulous little Dolly Doodles set that Kendal so very kindly sent for one of the toddler boys...Ollie was the lucky one to claim it, so poor Claudius (although fortunately he doesn't know yet) is still in his original outfit!

Well Ollie, you look very smart in your tractor hoodie and cord trousers.  Henry says to Ollie.

You look like a big boy!

Does that mean I can do big boys stuff?  Ollie asks Henry

Well....not all the time.   Henry replies.  It depends....

Thank You Aunty Kendal for this lovely little set for Ollie.  He is delighted and looks very smart as you can see.

1st November - Susan and Sasha

Now who is going to be my Trendon Sasha for November?    I have four Trendon girls left to show (well actually have six, but two aren't 'original' as they have been altered/rerooted)  Now one could have moved up into Lucy's slot as she was sold and went to live in the USA, but that didn't seem right as she was who was featured in February.  So I will have two girls for each of November and December.

My two girls for November will be Sasha (my first Sasha doll)  and Susan, (the only short haired Trendon Sasha)

Sasha of course was the start...I was only going to have two - a boy and a girl!  Ha!  Famous last words as many can attest to I am sure!

Sasha came to New Zealand with me in 2011 and although she didn't get out and about like Henry did and still does, it was the start of something, little did I know.  Even though it turned out that she wasn't going to be my travel companion, she is still rather special.  I sold her late last year, regretted it, especially when I saw her for sale  a few weeks later on evilbay which was rather disappointing as I had been told that the the person who bought her was really happy with her. Of course we all change our minds and that is far enough,  I couldn't do anything about it then and she sold. In March this year I saw her for sale again, and this time from someone I knew and I contacted them and she made her way home to me!

Susan (Susanna) arrived from the USA in April 2011 I think it was.  She was absolutely mint and has good stringing and lovely mint original outfit.  It has taken me quite some time to get to know her, but she has come into her own over the last year and has a few favourite outfits. She especially likes her green top and capris and also her couple of mini black dresses.

So there are my two girls for November.
