Welcoming Donny

A Wedding Anniversary gift from my husband sees this lovely boy join the family of boys here at Rose Cottage.

Non-falling hair - always a bonus!

He has the most lovely face.

He wanted to change into a different sweater to open the Advent Calendar today.  We just need to equip him with a warmer pair of footwear as well.

Such a sweet face.

Advent 2016 - Day Nineteen.

Peter partially changed out of his cowboy outfit to get into the spirit of Christmas and met up with Henry and Rory.

Henry tells him all about their Advent Calendar and asks him if he wanted to open today's window.

Of course!  Was the reply.

The boys help Peter look for number nineteen.

I think I have found it.  He tells them.

Yes, indeed I have.  He climbs on the box, reaches over and opens the window.

Hmm, what have we here?

Rory watches on with curiosity

Peter keeps the suspense going a little longer before he opens the packet.

With the bits in front of him, it doesn't take him long.

Look!  He says.  Henry looks over his shoulder.

It is a little oven.

I think that is what is supposed to go with yesterday's figure.  Henry tells Peter and explains about the grumpy looking fellow that Rory made yesterday.

Rory brings over the little man.

Yes, look he can put these in the oven to cook! Rory says.

So that is one puzzled solved.

Although the boys are are enjoying making up these Lego pieces, there seems to be such an odd bunch of characters and items in this calendar.  The theme is rather odd, and not quite what we expected.  Still Lego is Lego and I am quite sure it will get a lot of use throughout the year and not just at Christmas.

Advent 2016 - Day Thirteen

Hi there Albert.  Henry greets Albert.

Hello Henry.  Albert replies.

Do you want to have a go at the Advent Calendar today?  Henry asks.

Oh yes I do please.  Albert tells him shyly.

Henry helps Albert look for the window today.

They have found it.

I open it like this...Albert says.

A package!

Oh look it is a little man to put together.  Albert says.

Albert puts the little man together and shows Henry.

Well done Albert.  Henry says encouragingly.

Albert is pleased with his little man, although is still a shy boy, even though he has been here almost a whole year now, arriving for Christmas last year.

12 more days to Christmas Day!

A Summer Music Festival - Practising.

There is a lot of music going on here at Rose Cottage at the moment...both inside and outside of the house.

Bobby has been practising his guitar in the garden, enjoying the inspiration nature brings him.

Edith has found her flute, much to her relief and is now busy catching up on her preparation with the help of Peggy Sue.

Peggy Sue looks up at her to see her cue for when to start.

Hamish is busy practising his cornet.

Henry waits patiently with his clarinet.

Seems Hamish is going to be playing for a bit longer yet.

Later on Henry accompanies Peggy Sue..

Peggy Sue has been very diligent with her Cello playing.

Anne-Marie joins them on the violin.

A lovely trio of music.

These two girls have been working hard together.  Sometimes the two sisters get on so well and it is good to see them progress.

As to the Sasha girls...I am not sure what has been going on there...but there has been much banging and percussion type 'music' happening...and apparently no one is allowed to know what they are preparing yet...

'Before and After' The Boys.

This week on the Sasha Morganthaler Facebook group the theme is 'before and after' photos.  I have been through my photos and pretty much all my 'before and after' transformations have been boys.

The first was in early 2012 and was my lovely little Rory. My original interpretation of how he was going to look didn't happen at all - seems he knew exactly who he was!

Then jump a couple of years to 2014 and we have poor Pierre who came to me with only one eye.

Next we have Nigel who had greening eyes.
