Advent Day Twenty Two

Hi Amber

Hi Meredith.  Finally it is our turn to open the Advent Calendar!

Now where is that door?  Meredith asks.

Found it!  Meredith says as she bends down to open the door.

She reaches her hand in....

Oh look, Amber, some little animals.

A little basket as well.  Amber says.

I wonder if this means there is going to be a pet dog or cat?  Amber asks.  It looks like a pet basket to me.

Let's see what is in the little bag.  Meredith suggests.

Nope, no pets, but I have found an elephant and there are other zoo animals!  Meredith tells Amber.

Look, a giraffe, a zebra, a camel, a lion and a hippo!

She lays them out on the carpet.

I like the little elephant especially.  Meredith says.

They put the animals in the basket for now and put it down into the little Christmas Scene.

What do you think Amber?  Are they okay here for now?  Meredith asks.

Yes I think so Meredith.  Amber replies.

I think we should see if some of others want to come and see what we found today.

With that the girls wander off in search of their friends.

Advent Day Twenty One

Hey Ziva, shall we open the Calendar today? BJ whispers.

Yeah, why not?  Ziva replies.  You do it as you have been modelling all those knitted Tunics for Mum.

BJ reaches forward to open the door for the twenty-first day.

Carefully does it...

In her hand goes...

Look!  She says as she pulls out the little gift bag.

A gift box and a guitar.

Another instrument for the band.

I wonder who is going to play this?

She makes up the little box and puts the guitar in it.

It will be a surprise on Christmas morning.  She tells Ziva.

Where are you going to put the gift box?  Ziva asks.

I think I will put it under the tree.  BJ says as she puts the box down.

The little box is under the three and those two strange orange objects are still sitting on the table....

That was fun, wasn't it?

Advent Day Twenty

Hey Caleb

Hey Simon

What day is it today?  Simon asks.

Twentieth I think. Caleb replies

Cool, only five days until Christmas!  Simon says.

It doesn't take long for Caleb to find the door, as there are not many closed ones now....

Reaching in, he pulls out a little bag.

Is that what I think it is?  Simon asks.

It sure is!  Replies Caleb

A scooter!

The elves will LOVE playing with this,  says Caleb as he puts it down.

They will, agrees Simon.

What a busy little place it is becoming.

I think I know someone else who is going to enjoy playing on the scooter as well.....

So what do you reckon?  Caleb asks Simon

Yeah, great idea. Simon replies, knowing exactly what Caleb is suggesting!

Advent Day Nineteen.

Pierre and Francis have opted to open the little door for day nineteen on the Advent Calendar.

Both chose a Christmas waistcoat to wear....Pierre choosing red of course!

They decide it is going to be a joint effort.

Come on Francis, I'll open the door and you can get the gift out.  Pierre suggests.

That's it, I wonder what is inside.  Pierre says.

Francis reaches inside to see what might be behind the little door.

He pulls out a little package.

Look Pierre, lots of little gifts.  Francis shows him the bag with the little gifts inside.

Wow, just look at them!  Pierre says.  Whoops! Ouch!

They both bang heads as the go to lean down at the same time.

Here, I'll hold the little gift bucket and you can put the toys in it.  Francis suggests.

There, all full now.  Francis says after Pierre has filled up the bucket with the toys.

There is another little back pack thingy.  Pierre says.  I wonder what it is for.

Francis looks down at the little green back pack in his hand and just shrugs his shoulders....

He puts the bucket with the toys down and puts the little back pack on the shelf.

There.  He says. Looks like the Elves have been busy now helping to make all the toys.

What do you mean?  Pierre says.  The elves didn't make these, we just got them out of a little plastic bag behind door number nineteen.

Well yes... stutters Francis....trying to think of how to reply to such a frank statement... but it is all about fantasy and fun isn't it?

But the elves didn't make the toys.  Pierre states.

But we don't REALLY know that do we?  Francis suggests.

Yes we do.  Pierre replies...after all.....

Pierre launches into some long winded speech....Francis zones out and admires the little scene.

Pierre continues....

...and anyway, why do you let your hair grow so long like that, it must be very irritating when it goes in your eyes all the time....

Francis looks at Pierre stunned....really the boy does come out with the oddest of statements.  He sighs....and tries to explain what 'trendy' means...and how lots of boys like to grow their hair long...

Do they?  Pierre asks looking shocked.  Whatever for?

Never mind.  Francis tells him.
