Much excitement here of course with the first opening of the new Advent calendar.
Already in their Christmas dresses and waistcoats, Stevie, Rory, Emily and Henry couldn't wait!
They admire the pictures and scene as they look for the first little door.
There it is! The two girls point out.
Henry gets to open the first door.
He opens it carefully
Looks in....
and brings out the little toy that was inside.
Look at this. He says.
A little rocking horse.
Let's put it down by the tree. Henry suggests.
He carefully places it by the tree.
It looks perfect sitting there.
Yes, just the place for it. They all agree.
They chat together about the coming season and all the excitement and wonder when they will get their Christmas trees put up!
How charming...all the kids dressed so nicely and Henry, your vest rocks!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! I realised after Henry put his vest on that he chose the same one as last year!
DeleteSo nice to have an Advent calendar story again Lorraine. I always enjoy them, especially now when the days are this short with the dark weather we are having! Thank you, dear.
ReplyDeleteTo know that others enjoy them as well, makes it all worth while! :-) There has to be some brightness now all is dark and gloomy and damp!
DeleteMy children didn't do their Advent calendars today! so it will be 2 doors tomorrow instead.
ReplyDeleteI like the rocking horse your Sasha's have discovered in the first window.
Two doors in one day! What fun they will have :-)
DeleteSo wonderful to have the Advent calendar back again. I loved watching the Advent days progress last year with each day bringing a happy surprise. Henry, Rory, Stevie and Emily all look wonderful in their pretty outfits. Christmas will be here very soon! :) xxx
ReplyDeletep.s. Santa's swap gift is in the mail!
Yes it is great fun isn't it. Glad you enjoy it Ginger....although it is a bit of a scary reminder of how quickly this Advent season has crept up on me this year!
DeleteThanks for the update, I will mark you as sent. @:-)
It's always lovely to have a rocking horse in a Christmas scene. A super reminder of the first Christmas in the Victorian days gone by.
ReplyDeleteYes a rocking horse does make a Christmas Scene doesn't it? I can just imagine your fabulous rocking horse at Christmas time!
