A little sewing on Sunday

I had some bright pink and orange t-shirt fabric, just perfect for making a little outfit on a bright and sunny Sunday afternoon.

Liebe is modelling this little summer outfit, wearing shoes by Dollyblue.

Matches the flowers

Just the gear for playing in.

I also did some sewing for myself today, I made a simple skirt, pictures over here

A Day's Weeding? I think not!

Off to do some gardening at my FIL's house today, Simon and George wanted to come along and help.

Now don't start pushing each other boys!

I don't think you are going to find any weeds up there!

Not a lot of weeding going on boys, come on put a bit more effort into it.

Upside down weeding.

Come on George see if you can do a headstand as well.

Way to go!
I really don't think you should be up there George!

Yes I know you can balance...

I can walk along the wall as well.

Me too.

Now come on Simon, don't start sulking.

Peekaboo!

The boys certainly had fun.

Sew who Won on Sunday?

Drum roll.... Time for the Dress Giveaway Draw.

1. Find a suitable container for shuffling and shaking the names up.

This looks just the job.

Pop the names in the pot.

Give them a shake.

Enlist on my lovely husband's help to draw the name out of the pot.

Congratulations to Mon petite Bleuettes.

Please let me know your email address via the comments (I won't publish it) and I can get a pretty dress in the post to you this week.

Due to the response I had I decided to ask hubby to draw another lucky name from the pot!

Here we go...

Congratulations Emma! (From the Sasha Yahoo group)

Dress number 6, modelled by Emily will be in the post to you this week, just need you to email me your postal details please.

I had a very lazy day yesterday and didn't get any sewing done. I have been quite stiff and sore the last few days, probably from over doing things somewhat and too much driving.

I managed to make a little dress today, modelled by Amber my 1965 large head Gotz with yellow eyes.

I was trying out a new style, or rather a variation of a style.

Sleeves and neckline finished with yellow gingham binding.

A purchase

I ventured out today to our nearest fabric shop ...

Teeny tiny buttons...

Pretty fabrics....

Inspiration!

Last two dresses for my Giveaway finished today.

The final two dresses were finished today, so you have six to choose from for my giveaway.

Why people aren't able to comment I am not sure. I know commenting works when you use Google Chrome as the search engine as opposed to Internet Explorer. IE seems to work if you make sure you have the 'keep me signed in' box unchecked when you sign in.

Good luck!

So anyway, here are the two dresses I finished this afternoon.

Emily is modelling the higher bodice dress with a recycled needle cord floral skirt.

The contrast works well with her colouring.

Next up Sasha volunteered to model the other in lighter shades of violet and greens.

This skirt is a short style, again made with recycled needlepoint cord. A very pretty soft fabric.

Sasha always looks as if she has a smile, quite a contented smile, she is a happy girl.

So numbering the dresses, to perhaps make it easier.

From left to right: 1 and 2

Left to right: 3, 4 and 5

Finally 6.

Good luck to all who enter.

Remember as per yesterday's post I will be drawing the winner's name out of a bowl next Sunday.

Sunday Giveaway!

Well has it been wet enough for you all today? My poor husband and the two dogs got absolutely drenched when they went for their walk today. Thinking they were going during a 'dry' spell, only to get caught in a torrential downpour. Fortunately I was tucked up safely in my sewing studio, listening to some jazz.

Three little maids... all looking up in the hope it won't rain while their photos are being taken.

Emily

Lined bodice with a very full gathered skirt.

Sasha is modelling another dress, with lined bodice and full gathered skirt.

Marcia, wearing a square neckline bodice and vintage recycled Laura Ashley fabric for the full gathered skirt.

I thought I would offer one these pretty dresses (as well as the dress from yesterday's post) up as a Giveaway. They are all still to be trimmed with crochet lace edging around the neckline.

If you would like to enter this Giveaway, please leave a comment naming which dress you would prefer and I will draw the winning name out of a hat next Sunday.
