Who has won the Giveaway?

Guess what Mum, we had 27 entries for our Giveaway, isn't that amazing?!

It sure is Henry.  Come on help me write out all the names on a slip of paper and then fold them ready to draw out of a hat.

That's it, all the entries, now we have to fold them.

Oh we are going to use your travel case are we?  Okay, that sounds like a good idea.

That's it, put all the folded up names in the case.

Count them all in Henry

Are they all there?  Right, lets close the case and give it a shake.

Henry!  What are you doing?

I'm giving the suitcase a shake Mum, like you asked.

I didn't mean over the top of your head Henry, you must be careful.

But I am really strong...look...

One handed!

Yes Henry, you are a big strong lad, now put it down so we can get Mr Nearly 21 to pull a name out of the case with you.

Ooh, do you think he will?  He doesn't usually want to have anything to do with us.

Well if I promise only to photograph his hand he will.

In the hand goes...

Out a name comes...

Give it to Henry

Thank you, can I read the name out please?

Of course you can Henry.

It says Sheila!

Does that mean Sheila has won the prize Mum?

Yes it does Henry.

Can we draw another name out Mum?

Why's that Henry?

Well it doesn't seem fair that only one person has won something.

Well that's the way things are Henry.

Oh please, Mum, just one more as a kind of consolation prize?  Pllleeeeze

Okay Henry, that does sound like a lovely idea, let's draw another name out.

Who has won the consolation prize Henry?

Henry looks at the name puzzled.

It says Dormouse.  Why would a dormouse enter our giveaway Mum?

A dormouse hasn't entered our giveaway Henry, that is the name  the person is using.  It is a pseudonym.

What is a sue doe nim  Mum?

Well Henry, it is a name someone uses when they don't want their real name to be used.  But it is okay I know who it is, it is one of our Sasha friends.

Oh that is all right then.

Congratulations to Sheila our first prize winner and Dormouse our consolation prize winner.  Sorry there couldn't be something for everyone, but thank you all for entering our Giveaway...although laughingly I was actually one month early!  It should have been May...buy we DID reach 200 posts.  Please keep reading, who knows when we might do another one!  We love to read your comments and hope you continue to enjoy hearing about Henry and his friends exploits.

If you could both contact me by email with your name and postal address please and whether you are wanting something for a boy or a girl and their name if they have one, that would be great.

I hope to get your gifts finished and posted by the end of the week.

Entries for Giveaway Close Tomorrow

Don't forget tomorrow is the last day to enter my giveaway.  If you haven't already done so, you can still enter here.

Entries close 30th April 5pm BST.  Winner announced 7pm BST 30th April 2012...or thereabouts.

Upside Down

"Henry"

"Henry, where are you?"

"I'm here...", Henry answers rather strangely.

"Where?"

"Here!"

"What's this?  A pair of legs...?"

"It's me", giggles Henry.  "You asked me to model the new shorts, so I thought I'd do it upside down"

"Well don't giggle too much, or you will topple over. Now much as I think it is a very novel way of modelling new clothes, I'd quite like you to stand upright now please"

"Oh, okay Mum...how's this pose?"

"Oh that is very professional Henry"

As you can see Henry is modelling a new pair of long shorts...

Appliquéd Tuatara on the plain leg.

Below we have quiet little Peter modelling a brightly coloured 'Insects' shirt and shorts.

These items will be on my For Sale page HERE

Loud noises coming from the other room...

"What's that?", I ask.

"Oh can't I keep the shorts Mum, I haven't got anything made from New Zealand fabrics yet, and these are so cool", asks Henry...  "Please Mum"...he adds.

"Well...let me have a think about that Henry, after all if I let you keep these, what about your brothers, they haven't got any either!"

Clothing and Dolls for Sale

I've added some new dresses for Sasha for sale on my Clothing for Sale page here.

More of Henry's Fashions coming soon...had a bit of a set back pain wise the last couple of days.

I've also added a few dolls on my Dolls for Sale page here.

Henry in New Zealand Train Spotting!

I found a set of photographs from Henry's trip to New Zealand that I forgot to post!

All little boys seem to like trains and certainly my two sons did when they were little.

Henry is no different, he too loves trains and when we went through Helensville, a small township near where my parents live Henry was delighted to see it had a railway statiion.

Can I really stand here Mum?

Of course you can Henry.

I wonder what will happen if I pull this lever?

I don't think anything will happen Henry, this is just an example of what the old engines that used to pull logs looked like.

So this is what it would look like

Look you can see right over the engine.

Do you think I could get Henry off this train?

Henry at the Dentist.

Yesterday was quilting day and as I STILL cannot find my black wadding to complete my New Zealand quilt I did some cutting out to make some more of  'Henry's Fashions for Gregor' .  I left just after lunch so that Henry  had time to pop in to see his friends Gomez and Paddy.  They were going to take the dog for a walk.  While they were out I enjoyed a cup of tea and a natter with my friend Gill.

Fortunately they were able to do so between the torrential April showers that seemed to be prevalent during the course of the day.  Returning from their walk they seemed remarkably clean for three boys and a dog.

Of course what I'd forgotten to tell Henry was that we went there earlier than usual as we had to go to the dentist in the afternoon!

Henry doesn't look too impressed to be sitting in the dentists chair and was slightly apprehensive...Fortunately he is very good at cleaning his teeth regularly and limits his sweet intake.  What a good boy!  No fillings for you Henry.

A box arrives

Oh dear, I know when the pain is very bad.... I have just realised it is then that I go on a bit of a spending spree! Oh dear... It must have been such the other week before I had my lidocaine infusion as I have had not one, but two packages arrive for me this week!  The one yesterday was a bit of a surprise as I wasn't expecting it yet and had gone down the road to send some parcels and do some banking.  When I got home there was a box waiting for me on our front porch.

I know I've done a box opening sequence before, but can I find it on my blog to refer back to?  Of course I can't, so I can only surmise that I forgot to actually post the pictures or I accidentally deleted it at some stage.  I will have to repost the photos some time... Anyway onwards and upwards as they say.

There was movement in the box and it split open...

Amber and April hear something and go to investigate.

What's going on in there?  I don't know, says April, but I'm a bit scared.

Oh my goodness!  Will you look at that, a hand is coming out!

Oh and a leg!

For goodness sake, don't just stand there gawping, hold the box open so I can get out please.

That's better, thank you.

Amber and April hold the lid open while looking into the box wondering who is in there.

Much easier to get out of the box without the lid falling back down on me each time

April holds out her hand as she moves to the front of the box, recognising  that it was her doing the same thing the other week.

Thank you, says the newcomer as she reaches out her hand to grab hold of April's.

Oh, are you going to be staying with us?  Mum mentioned something about someone coming on holiday for a little while, but I didn't think it was yet... Amber asks.

April looks on with concern and puts her arm around the girl who looks rather unsteady on her feet.

I think...I hope...well...I think I am supposed to be your new sister...

Oh really?!  Amber and April both move in closer putting their arms around their new sister.
Mum didn't mention we were getting a new sister!  She certainly kept that quiet!

Well I am you know!  The new girl says in a slightly bolder tone, with more confidence than she felt.

She certainly looks rather dishevelled after her long trip from the United States.  Although I think I can detect a slight stubborn streak about her.

Right young lady, says Mum as she comes along and swoops her up.  You need a jolly good bath and hair wash!

Not looking too impressed after the whole ordeal.  Not only has she been tossed around in a box for the last week or so, she has been washed, scrubbed and wrapped up in a towel....  How is she going to cope with the trauma?

Well, with all the confidence she can muster I believe, as she poses for a photo after her hair has dried and a dress has been found for her to wear until her special welcome home dress has been made.

Certainly your hair looks much prettier now and isn't all tangled and sticky.

Welcome to your new home Saffron!

In the meantime Mum is frantically working out what she can sell!  Lots of figures, adding up,subtracting and scheming is going on.

Oh and a little reminder to put your name down for the Giveaway if you haven't already.  You can get to the page by clicking on the picture on the side bar.

Pop Up Pirate

Such a wet day today that we decided not to risk the motorways and stayed at home instead of travelling to Cambridge to visit our friends.  So Henry decided to sit down with Tilly Rose and two of the babies, Alfie and Amelia to play 'Pop Up Pirate'.  There were lots of giggles going on and amazingly no fighting over the different coloured pirate swords.

Henry puts in his blue sword...

Tilly Rose puts in her yellow....careful now....

Yeah says Henry, whilst Alfie cheers alongside, I won!  Poor Tilly Rose put in the sword that made the Pirate pop out of his barrel.

I've left them there playing...the sun is coming out now, so they may suddenly decide to pack it in and ask to go outside.
