Henry & Wee Jock the Highland Sock Monkey

While I was busy looking for something in the sewing studio the other day, Henry spied Wee Jock, the Scottish Highland Sock Monkey.

Wee Jock has been sitting on the shelf in there for oh, goodness knows how long...he has been with us at least a couple of years!

He seemed very pleased with the attention and Henry, who is feeling somewhat sad , was pleased to have someone to care for and talk to.

Let's go for a walk, Wee Jock.

Edited to add:  The fabulous sweater was knitted by Erica.

RIP Erica McLeod.

It is with deep sadness that I write this.Erica, a fellow New Zealander and one the loveliest Sasha collectors I have been fortunate enough to have had both email contact and telephone conversations with has sadly lost her courageous battle with cancer.

Erica McLeod will be remembered with fondness by many. She took part in our Christmas Secret Santa Swap and I know she was delighted with the gifts that Anna sent her.  She worried about not getting her gifts off in time, but I know would have worked hard to have achieved the very best she could.

I am lucky enough to have a couple of her gorgeous knitwear for my Sasha kids and a lovely sheepskin that I will treasure.

Our thoughts go out to Ian and family at this sad time.  We will always remember her contribution to the Sasha World.

Meredith in Pink

I finally got round to sewing the buttons on a jumper I made last year for one of my KnC dolls, however I thought I would try it on Meredith as she was still in her Christmas dress.

I actually really like it on her and was surprised how well it fit.  It does make her a little more 'grown up' but as she is my eldest Sasha that probably isn't such a bad thing.

I just love this girl and was so thrilled to have been able to get her last year...even if she did mean my 'downfall' and resulted in having to sell many of my other dolls.

Such a lovely face.

Two boys

Walking out of the lounge today I glimpsed Bobby and Jacob sitting on the book shelf and thought they looked cute in their matching sweaters.

Henry enjoys the snow

It has been lightly snowing all day today and must have snowed most of the night as well.

Henry couldn't wait to get outside to have a play in the snow.

Secret Santa Swap Gifts Revealed - Part Six

Melissa's daughter Sadie was the recipient of these wonderful Secret Santa Gifts.

A wonderful pair of overalls, cute bears,

A great pair of sneakers!

A very big thank you to Sadie's Sasha Secret Santa for these wodnerful gifts.

Molly & Sally play with their dolls.

Molly and Sally have been enjoying playing with their baby dolls today inside in the warmth.  It is far too cold to venture outside!

Molly is about to feed her little 'baby'

Sally (my wide faced blonde gingham girl from around 1971) also has a little baby to feed.

The girls have been enjoying playing with their little dolls and the furniture set that came with Molly's baby.

Quite a bargain at £2 from the local charity shop!

Secret Santa Swap Gifts Revealed - Part Five

Unfortunately I haven't received many photos of the swap gifts received, these are the last lot received.

Susanne wrote 'Sasha Angela and baby both look cute as can be in their new Christmas outfits.  They also love their new toys - the Gingerbread Man and the bear.  Thank you to Sheila who was my Secret Santa.'

Cowboys and frog ponds

Henry finally managed to get out for a ride on Stratford today.

Naturally he decided to ride in his cowboy outfit.

Henry and Stratford enjoyed being out together in the mild weather we are having...although not sunny, it is reasonably warm for this time of year.

Ye Ha Cowboy!

Meanwhile Rory has been working on his frog pond.

Some greenery has been added...

As well as another couple of his frogs.

They look quite happy in there Rory.

I can see Rory really enjoying his frogs and the study of their habitat.

Rory's Frog Pond...

Rory spend some time last night going through the scrapbooking papers, he had drawn up a plan for his frog pond.

Gosh quite a selection I wonder what he will come up with?

He found a glass house that had been sitting in the conservatory for well over the year and asked if he could have it to make his terrarium...  He thought it would be just what was needed.

Rory opens the lid to see how his pond will fit for size.

The pond is looking good Rory, I see you have rushes, water lily pads and a flower, plus a couple of rocks for the frogs to sit on.

Rory pops the pond inside the glass house to check the size.  It is a good fit, he still has lots to do though as he informs me, there will need to be a wild grass area to attract the dragonflies....

Even his new frog seems to approve of the progress so far.

Happy New Year!

After having to sell over half my Sasha girls and boys, I have 12 Trendon/Frido Sashas left so I thought...getting the idea from Dee over at Sasha Village who featured a 'Red' a month last year, (thanks Dee), that I would  feature one of my girls at the beginning of each month.  Starting with the one who arrived first (out of who remains).

So, without further ado, my Sasha for January is Molly, who is an early Brunette Trendon girl who has been restrung by Brenda Walton.  I bought Molly from Absolutely Sasha and she has been here the longest of all the girls that remain here.  She has oxidised eyes, brows and lips, and one day I may touch these up, but at the moment I am happy to leave them as they are.  She is a bit sad at the moment as her best friend Sasha, the first Sasha to arrive here, is leaving home to go to live with someone else tomorrow.  We are sad together, but glad Sasha will be going to a good home.  They are featured on my home page with the skipping rope.

Molly was delighted to find it sunny today and couldn't wait to go out for a quiet stroll in the garden before all the hustle and bustle of the day began .  Molly has lovely and long wavy silky non-falling hair.

She is a real sweetie.

Molly is wearing a red needle/pin cord dress made by myself with her patent red buckle shoes.
