1st December - Weaver & Mary Ellen

My last two Trendon girls for the year to represent the month of December are:

Weaver and Mary Ellen.

Weaver was waiting for me at Norvell's when I went to the USA for the Sasha Festival.  She is a lovely early blonde side-part girl and as you can see she chose blue tones for her Christmas dress.

The lovely red head was an unexpected purchase from Dear Jackie Kraemer and she too came home with me from the USA.  As soon as I saw this girl with her wonderfully perfect straight full fringe I knew I wouldn't be able to resist her. She is a 1969 Dungarees Sasha.   Mary Ellen has chosen the green Christmas dress which I think she looks just delightful in.

These two girls have fitted well in my Sasha family and get on well with each other and the other girls.

All the girls are very excited about Christmas and are looking forward to helping with the decorations.

1st November - Susan and Sasha

Now who is going to be my Trendon Sasha for November?    I have four Trendon girls left to show (well actually have six, but two aren't 'original' as they have been altered/rerooted)  Now one could have moved up into Lucy's slot as she was sold and went to live in the USA, but that didn't seem right as she was who was featured in February.  So I will have two girls for each of November and December.

My two girls for November will be Sasha (my first Sasha doll)  and Susan, (the only short haired Trendon Sasha)

Sasha of course was the start...I was only going to have two - a boy and a girl!  Ha!  Famous last words as many can attest to I am sure!

Sasha came to New Zealand with me in 2011 and although she didn't get out and about like Henry did and still does, it was the start of something, little did I know.  Even though it turned out that she wasn't going to be my travel companion, she is still rather special.  I sold her late last year, regretted it, especially when I saw her for sale  a few weeks later on evilbay which was rather disappointing as I had been told that the the person who bought her was really happy with her. Of course we all change our minds and that is far enough,  I couldn't do anything about it then and she sold. In March this year I saw her for sale again, and this time from someone I knew and I contacted them and she made her way home to me!

Susan (Susanna) arrived from the USA in April 2011 I think it was.  She was absolutely mint and has good stringing and lovely mint original outfit.  It has taken me quite some time to get to know her, but she has come into her own over the last year and has a few favourite outfits. She especially likes her green top and capris and also her couple of mini black dresses.

So there are my two girls for November.

Belated 1st October - BJ

Goodness it is now 4th October and I completely forgot about my Trendon Sasha of the month until this morning!  So here is my belated 1st October post!

The Trendon Sasha for this month is BJ (Brenda-Julia) named after the lovely Brenda Walton whom I bought her from at the Sasha Festival in Stratford Upon Avon last year.  She is a later White Dress Redhead.  She used to have a 'twin' sister Judie who has since moved on to a new home.  The girls got on beautifully together and here is a post of their being 'reunited' in July last year.  Sometimes though circumstances change and Judie had to part from BJ for 'pastures new'.

She is a lovely pretty girl with really rich red hair and very special to me.

1st September - Meredith

Well where on earth did August disappear to?  I'm sure as you get older time goes much faster.

Today we take my older son down to college for the next six months of on shore training.  He has only been back two weeks and for some of that he was away kayaking.  Still at least he is in the same country this time.

Our younger son starts sixth from tomorrow having achieved the grades needed for entry. Fantastic! We are so proud of what he has achieved despite his difficulties - he has a hard two years ahead but hopefully with the right support he will achieve his goals.

My Trendon girl for September is actually a 'Frido/Trendon' girl having been made in 1966/67, one of the earlier dolls painted by Kristina the art student, she has what the factory originally called the 'Puddle Eyes' (as Brenda Walton explained to me) but now more frequently referred to as Graphic Eyed or Developmental Eye paint.   She arrived over a year ago in June and is my true 'dream doll' and I just love her to bits.  I bought her from her original owner and feel very lucky to have her.

Meredith is wearing the gorgeous smocked dress that my lovely friend Norvell sent to me earlier this year.  It looks so beautiful on Meredith and I have teamed it with some JJ shoes.

I've been practising my photography on completely manual settings so have rather a few photos of my delightful girl.

I hope everyone has a lovely September!

The next swap starts this month - details on the swap page.

1st August - Charlotte

It seems August has come round very fast indeed.  August is a busy month for us.  My older son comes home from his World Cruise as a trainee navigator for Princess Cruises ready to embark on the next stage of his on land training in September.   Our family celebrate three birthdays, my Dad, my sister and my husband. Our younger son will get his GCSE results - oh I do hope he gets the grades to get into sixth form! Preparation for the new school year will also be needed to help him get ready for this next stage of study.  I am hoping to get back into playing the Cello which came to an abrupt halt earlier in the year during the medication withdrawal problems I had and I plan to lose the excess weight the drugs caused me to put on! On to dolls!

The Trendon girl I have chosen for this month  is Charlotte.  Poor Charlotte has had rather an uncertain time these last few months, what with being on my For Sale page and very nearly being sold.

She was one of the first three dolls my lovely husband bought for me in 2011 and she has really not had a lot of attention paid to her, tending to just have been a display doll in her Blue Gingham outfit.  As such I guess this is why she ended up in a precarious position. I am not one for 'display only Sashas' they need to be handled, dressed, played with and loved.

It was only when I needed a model for a 'mini me' for my 'Images of Childhood' Dress A Sasha Competition entry and Charlotte fitted the bill perfectly that she really became noticed.

I always used to wear my hair up in a part pony tail and it was crucial that my model could as well.

Me in 1974.

This of course led to more 'modelling' opportunities for Charlotte as she tried to convince me to take her to the Sasha Festival

Showing off all her good points.

Different sides

I unfortunately had to disappoint her as I just didn't have the room to take her.  However, as recompense I said that she could be my next Trendon Sasha to feature and represent August.

So here she is in the pretty smocked dress from the Festival made by Millie Dingham.

Somehow it seems quite appropriate that the dress is a soft orange/peach colour.

Welcome Charlotte.

1st July - Victoria

My Trendon girl for the month of July is Victoria.

This beautiful 1971 minty girl arrived in November 2011 in her tube having never been played with - she still smells like new.

Enjoying the afternoon warmth.

Such a pretty girl who is a delight.

1st June - Sally

This month's Trendon girl is Sally.  I bought Sally from Ted in the USA and she has been with me for just over two years.  She is a Wide Face Trendon Girl with a half centre part from 1971/2 and arrived with her lovely blue teddy bear.

This is a photo of her shortly after she arrived wearing a pretty dress made by Margaret of 'JustSew'

With her little teddy 'Blue'

These two pictures were taken at Easter this year.

Wearing the outfit I recently made

Wearing the fun Kiwiana summer dress

She is such a pretty girl and I always think of her as being younger than any of the other girls - perhaps it is her wide face that gives her this more innocent look.

Swap partners have been allocated - see 'A Simple Summer Swap' page.  I have sent emails out to all but two pairings - still waiting on addresses from a couple of people.  Will send out as soon as they arrive.

May 1st - Cora

This month's Trendon girl is Cora.  I bought Cora from Lauri in the USA and have had her for over a couple of years now.  After 'rediscovering' her and seeing her personality develop the last few days, I just had to feature her for May.
