I received an amazing 34 entries for my 2nd Blogivesary Giveaway - thank you to all who commented and entered.  It was wonderful to get such interest and of course lovely to read your comments and encouragement - it all helps to make a brighter day and I really do appreciate those that make the extra effort to leave a comment, either directly on my blog or personally.

I used the Randon Number Generator found here and the number generated was number 19 which was Beth.  Congratulations Beth on being the winner of this Giveaway.  I had hoped to put the picture on my blog, but wasn't technically minded enough to work out how to do it!

Beth please email me and let me know your full name and address and I will get your little 'Kiwiana' dress in the post to you first thing Monday morning.

Giveaway Gifts.

The giveaway gifts are finally ready.  I haven't rushed them for a couple of reasons...the first prize winner, Sheila, is collecting hers at the festival and asked if they could be for her grandson's Gregor...photos tomorrow as it is too dark now.

Second prize winner was Dormouse and I have made a little cardigan for her Sasha out of 100% New Zealand Merino Wool.

Cardigan being modelled by April, my slate eyed Gotz girl.

Judy, I hope you like the cardigan, I will post it to you Monday morning.

Who has won the Giveaway?

Guess what Mum, we had 27 entries for our Giveaway, isn't that amazing?!

It sure is Henry.  Come on help me write out all the names on a slip of paper and then fold them ready to draw out of a hat.

That's it, all the entries, now we have to fold them.

Oh we are going to use your travel case are we?  Okay, that sounds like a good idea.

That's it, put all the folded up names in the case.

Count them all in Henry

Are they all there?  Right, lets close the case and give it a shake.

Henry!  What are you doing?

I'm giving the suitcase a shake Mum, like you asked.

I didn't mean over the top of your head Henry, you must be careful.

But I am really strong...look...

One handed!

Yes Henry, you are a big strong lad, now put it down so we can get Mr Nearly 21 to pull a name out of the case with you.

Ooh, do you think he will?  He doesn't usually want to have anything to do with us.

Well if I promise only to photograph his hand he will.

In the hand goes...

Out a name comes...

Give it to Henry

Thank you, can I read the name out please?

Of course you can Henry.

It says Sheila!

Does that mean Sheila has won the prize Mum?

Yes it does Henry.

Can we draw another name out Mum?

Why's that Henry?

Well it doesn't seem fair that only one person has won something.

Well that's the way things are Henry.

Oh please, Mum, just one more as a kind of consolation prize?  Pllleeeeze

Okay Henry, that does sound like a lovely idea, let's draw another name out.

Who has won the consolation prize Henry?

Henry looks at the name puzzled.

It says Dormouse.  Why would a dormouse enter our giveaway Mum?

A dormouse hasn't entered our giveaway Henry, that is the name  the person is using.  It is a pseudonym.

What is a sue doe nim  Mum?

Well Henry, it is a name someone uses when they don't want their real name to be used.  But it is okay I know who it is, it is one of our Sasha friends.

Oh that is all right then.

Congratulations to Sheila our first prize winner and Dormouse our consolation prize winner.  Sorry there couldn't be something for everyone, but thank you all for entering our Giveaway...although laughingly I was actually one month early!  It should have been May...buy we DID reach 200 posts.  Please keep reading, who knows when we might do another one!  We love to read your comments and hope you continue to enjoy hearing about Henry and his friends exploits.

If you could both contact me by email with your name and postal address please and whether you are wanting something for a boy or a girl and their name if they have one, that would be great.

I hope to get your gifts finished and posted by the end of the week.

Giveaway to celebrate 1st Anniversary & 200th Post. Plus a trip to London.

A year ago on the 15th April I started this Sewing for Sasha blog.  I have actually been blogging since 2007, but this blog is celebrating its first birthday, and its 200th post!  Goodness have I really nattered on 200 times since starting a year ago?

To celebrate this I am having a New Zealand Giveaway

Hosted by Henry of course!

The giveaway is going to include:

A Kiwi Souvenir/Gift
A NZ Wool knitted item for Sasha or Gregor
A Kiwiana Handmade item for Sasha or Gregor
A gift for 'Mum'
and a little extra surprise gift.

To enter this giveaway you need to leave a comment on this post letting me know you would like to enter and if you are to win, whether you would like something for Sasha or Gregor.
If you can't leave a comment for some reason, then email your comment for me to add to the comments section.

Henry has been a kind soul today accompanying me to the UCL Neurology & Neurosurgery Hospital in Queen Square, London for my Lidocaine Infusion at the Pain Management Department.

Today we had to take 'Mum' to hospital for a treatment where they put this huge needle in her hand and attach her to all sorts of heart and blood pressure monitors...the needle part was a bit scary and I had to hide my eyes but Mum took it all in her stride having had it done before.

'Dad' made the comment about he was surprised Mum wasn't committed when the doctor and nurses saw that she had brought me along to accompany her, he added, surely he was enough...not sure quite what he meant by that.  Surely he couldn't have been insinuating that it was strange for me to be coming with them.  After all I am quite a caring lad most of the time.

We couldn't stop on the way there as it was very crowded in the morning but after the treatment we stopped and took a few photos, much to Dad's horror!  Again I'm not sure what the problem he had was...

The first stop was The Horse Hospital.  I couldn't see any horses inside.  Worrying about Dallas and hoping he won't have to come up here as it is a long way on the train and tube and they are noisy, Mum reassured me that it wasn't used for that purpose anymore...BUT they still have the sign, so I'm not convinced, and I'm not sure it looks a really nice place, there is no grass anywhere!

This is the station near the hospital.

Waiting for the train...I wonder if I can see it coming...

Being careful not to step over the yellow line.

Oops...just got told off for standing on the seats...not fair I wanted to see out the window!

I guess it is safer sitting down though.  Nearly home.

Once home I rushed to see if Dallas was okay.

I told him all about it

Reassuring him that he doesn't need to go up to the Horse Hospital.

I think both he and I are quite relieved about that.

So if you want to enter my giveaway, don't forget!

It will be held open until the end of April.  If you want to tell other Sasha friends about it, please do, and if you want you can 'grab' my picture from the side bar, or below.

Sew who Won on Sunday?

Drum roll.... Time for the Dress Giveaway Draw.

1. Find a suitable container for shuffling and shaking the names up.

This looks just the job.

Pop the names in the pot.

Give them a shake.

Enlist on my lovely husband's help to draw the name out of the pot.

Congratulations to Mon petite Bleuettes.

Please let me know your email address via the comments (I won't publish it) and I can get a pretty dress in the post to you this week.

Due to the response I had I decided to ask hubby to draw another lucky name from the pot!

Here we go...

Congratulations Emma! (From the Sasha Yahoo group)

Dress number 6, modelled by Emily will be in the post to you this week, just need you to email me your postal details please.

I had a very lazy day yesterday and didn't get any sewing done. I have been quite stiff and sore the last few days, probably from over doing things somewhat and too much driving.

I managed to make a little dress today, modelled by Amber my 1965 large head Gotz with yellow eyes.

I was trying out a new style, or rather a variation of a style.

Sleeves and neckline finished with yellow gingham binding.
