Farm Girl Outfit

It all started with wanting to make a plain blouse to go with the patchwork skirt I made the other week...

I think this looks better than the green blouse I originally made to go with the skirt.

Liking this easy blouse I thought I'd make another one, which led to...well another Sasha Studio Farm Girl inspired outfit.

The long underwear/pants and scarf are made from a tea towel.  The petticoat from some vintage lace and left over christening gown, the apron was a napkin and the blouse is made from a recycled linen shirt.  The skirt is made from some fabric I had.  Forgive the boots, they are the only ones I had for her to wear.  I will have to make her a pair of shoes/boots to match the outfit, but ran out of time and energy today.

Unfortunately the sun is completely washing all the detail of the little apron out, so I will have to try and take some more photos tomorrow.

I played round with the colours and lighting here so it looks a bit odd, but you can see the flower a bit better.

I also have a knitted shawl that I need to dig out that will go with this nicely.

Patchwork

I had a load of tiny patch work squares that I had started to sew together.

Today I decided to make a skirt with them.

Which then meant I had to make a blouse as well!

Julie is modelling this rather whacky creation - which perhaps would have been better with a plain white shirt - might make one another day.

Beads & Dresses

I managed to pick up some necklaces from the Charity Shop today - they looked like good 'possibles' in the shop, but when I got them home and tried them on Tilly Rose with her 'Yamka' dress I wasn't so convinced. Maybe I will cannibalise them and make something a bit different.

Using some vintage fabric that has been lying around for sometime I thought I would see what it looked like made up into a little dress.

Judie insisted on wearing her pink shoes with it...I tried to get her to wear a blue pair, but she wasn't having it.

Next up, while I was trying to find my tin of beads and things, I saw some fabric that would probably sew up well to make another Yamka style dress...

It is a very soft fabric and drapes well.  I teamed it with the shell beads and I think these do go nicely with the dress.

Julia agrees.

I have been enjoying looking through my Sasha books, particularly the studio dolls and their clothing - I have various ideas I want to try out - once I have sorted through to find the appropriate fabrics.

It's been a red kind of day...

Claudius just adores his big brother Rory and follows him around everywhere if he gets the opportunity.  I think this photo sums up how much he looks up to him.

Getting the three boys together and still for a photo shoot takes some doing!

Even cheeky Ginger George behaved  himself....I was to find out later he must have been promised a ride in trolley in the garden as when I looked out later this is what I saw:

Cousin Hamish stepped up to the occassion by pulling the trolley.

I would have loved to have known what they were discussing, but could only guess as it was too cold for me outside!

I see both Kermit and Ginger George's monkey also went for the ride.

Ah, it looks like Claudius must have asked for a ride as well.

What great boys they are!

It also looks like Judie and Julie decided to go for a stroll in the garden as well.  I wonder what they were discussing?

Twins

A slightly better day today....

Some photos I took of my 'twins' as the day was brighter and the sun was shining.

Judie & Julia

Fraternal Twins Conner and James who think they are identical so wear the same clothes but with something 'different' to distinguish between the two...in this case the colour of their buttons.

I hate to disillusion them!
