Hamleys, Meeting the Queen, Top Hat & Tails

Yesterday was our Wedding Anniversary and we went into London to see a show.  Of course we couldn't resist a trip to Hamleys and naturally took Henry with us.

Henry just loved the train set and we found it difficult to get him to move away from it.

The whole scene fascinated him and he wants us to get one!

It was only the thought that he might see some motorbikes that enabled us to pull him away.

Ever since being allowed to ride Fritz's motorbike at Kendal's in the summer, Henry has developed a fascination for them.  A fascination that I am going to have to get him out of before he is old enough to ride one on the roads!

Wow, he thinks to himself...

I wonder if he got ideas here...

From seeing Spiderman hanging from the ceiling?!

He got to pose with the Queen, and looks rather in awe of her.

He found standing with the guard much more comfortable!

Once we had finished looking round Hamleys we went and had dinner in Garfunkels before travelling on to the Aldwych Theatre.

It was beautifully decorated for Christmas

Henry was very excited about seeing the show and couldn't wait to find our seats.

Just before the show started, we had an excellent view of the stage.

A thoroughly enjoyable evening watching Top Hat.

Henry of course has been singing all the songs since and I've heard rumblings about needing a Top Hat and Tails...

  2. Belated wedding anniversary wishes. Sounds like you all had a wonderful day celebrating, toy shop, dinner and the theatre. I used to often go to Hamleys when Chon was young and we lived in nearby Edgeware. It was like entering into a toy paradise but when I last visited a few years ago I was rather disappointed with what I saw. Everything seemed to have been scaled down.
    Sasha love from Kendal.
