Sasha Festival 2012 Part Four - Children Playing in the Cotswolds

Travelling through the Cotswolds on Friday by coach we stopped at a lovely village where we saw some children at play.  They looked to be just out of school and enjoying the tiny bit of dry weather we saw that day.

One lad looked like he had had a hockey match that day, while the other was playing 'walk the dog' with his yo yo .  The girls were enjoying riding their hobby horse and skipping.

"I'm really not sure I am doing this right"  Oliver says as he looks at his yo yo with a puzzled look.  "I'm sure it is supposed to come rolling back up again"

The girls have moved on to play a game of hopscotch.

Molly throws the  stone for her turn.

"Wow, you got there fast" says Emily.

The boys are enjoying a game of conkers, Oliver is about to take his shot.

Emily is having her turn now.

It was a joy to watch children playing outside, instead of shut up inside on computers!

All too soon we had to head back to the coach for a rather long and windy, stomach lurching trip back to the hotel.

  1. Love these photos of the 'children' playing some old fashioned games on the common. So sad that you hardly ever see these sort of games or skills being played or perfected nowadays...and with the added benefit of being out in the fresh air.
I'm noticing the differences in the girl's pinafores (providing that they were made in the same size) on the English and Gotz girls showing up the slightly varying heights and widths of these dolls.
Lovely photos especially as I was unable to go on the coach trip.
    Sasha love from Kendal.
PS. Adore the little hockey stick.

  2. Nice to see the kids got some fresh air and a chance to play.

    Like the pinafore dresses.

  3. Yes, the different sizes though are indicative of real children - they might all be in uniform at school but they still don't look uniform - each little personality shining out. I didn't go on the coach trip either, so this is a bonus.
