Advent 2015 - Day Seventeen

Hey there stranger, what is your name?  Henry asks.

I don't have one yet...  I am hoping for a new home for Christmas and then hopefully I will also get a name then.  Is the sad reply from the little red head boy.

Well, how would you like to open a window in the Advent Calendar today?  Henry suggests.

Could I?  That would be great fun.

The boys look for the number 17.

Here it is.   The little lad says.

He opens the window....

...and much to his delight...

Look!  I got a person - he looks like a King!

He sure does.  Henry agrees.  He certainly looks like he might be old and wise anyway with a long beard like that.

I think he looks pretty cool.

Now where shall he go.  The little boy wonders.

There you go.  He says as he places him down.

You can walk over the bridge.

That was great Henry.  The boy says. Can we stay and play a while?

Of course we can.  Henry replies.

Blue & Pink

I'm hoping to go to a Sasha Fun Day tomorrow and have made a coat as part of a Raffle Donation, however due to having been in so much pain the last couple of weeks and still suffering I'm really not sure I am going to be able to make it which will be such a shame.  Had hoped I could convince my hubby to give up oh about four hours of his day...two times two hours return!  Needless to say I wasn't successful.

Anyway here is Julia modelling the raincoat.

I'm hoping it will be suitable...

You've lost WHAT?

What do you mean you can't find it?  April asks Saffron in shocked voice

I just can't.  I have looked EVERYwhere...  Saffron replies

Well, you better try again  April tells Saffron.  Mum will be furious otherwise!  If you kept your room tidier you would probably be able to find it.

I try to.  Saffron says, looking very sad and sorry for herself. It is just SO difficult!

In the meantime how have the other girls got on with finding some warmer clothes to wear?

Kendal and Amber have chosen a couple of nice warm dresses...

Julia and Judy are favouring their dolly doodles outfits.  Although I think Julia must have put on weight as they wouldn't do up and the popper came off!  Whoops!

The rest of the girls are busy trying to decide what to wear as well, but there seems to be general confusion and chaos reigning as Saffron has rummaged through all their clothes and shoes trying to find her 'blue suede boot'!

Thinking out loud

Shall I get this lad customized?  Not sure I really believe in having such a thing done unless the doll is a waif of some kind and needs it.  So I guess the other question I ask myself is should I sell Patrick on.  Desperately need to sort out my finances, and am thinking that perhaps that would be the best thing.

He is a green cord Gregor and came with his complete outfit in excellent condition.

What would YOU do?  Keep as is...customise...selll?

One of my Red head girls

Henry & his new friend, and of course a close up of the Olympic badge to show Kendal was going to be featured today, but a bad head has put me out of action so I thought I would just post some pictures of one of my pretty Gotz Red head girls and her gorgeous orange Vintage Sasha Dress.

Hope you enjoyed these three pictures.

A little Pram Set.

Inspired by Kendal's lovely pram, I thought I better get cracking and work on a pram set for the girls pram.  They were wanting to get out in the sunshine, having been cooped up for far too long due to the wet weather.  A day of sunshine seemed almost too good to believe!  This morning I made a little mattress, bottom sheet, top sheet, blanket pillow and the quilt cover is still a work in progress, but as it was warm they didn't need it.

Ah, doesn't our little baby look happy in her pram Julia?   Do you think we ought to pull the hood up to protect her from the sun?

That sounds like a good idea Judie.  Can you manage, or shall I come round and do it for you?

There we go, that is better isn't it?

She sure looks like a little sweetheart snug in her pram.  The twins wander off pushing the pram taking turns.

A hat arrives.

The girls were delighted when something arrived for them in the post today.

It was Julia's new hat that matches her sister Judie's.

They both donned their hats and went outside to smell the roses while the sun was shining.

Julia looks so very pretty in her new hat.

They were also delighted to know that a new book had arrived...

As mentioned by DollMum in her comment the other day, Mum couldn't resist seeing if she could get hold of a copy for the girls...thinking it might be fun for them to enact some of the stories from within the bool.  Of course she has been informed by the girls that she also has to make some costumes!

The girls, Henry & Rory, will be away for a few days now and will return to blogging early next week.

A tea party...

Another wet day has been keeping the kids inside.

The girls have been very enterprising though and organised a tea party.

Harper, Jane and Judy set up a little table with cups and saucers.  Harper has already donned the apron.

"You can pretend to be Mum" says Judy to Harper

"I'm hanging up the bunting" Jane says while Harper and Jane discuss who else they should invite

"Amelia is already here sitting on the cushion, but who else shall we ask?" Harper asks Judy.

"Why don't we ask Alice, she is so good at reading" Judy replies.

Amelia is fascinated by the bunting and watches Jane with interest.

"Shall I read Peter Rabbit to you Amelia?"

"Yes peas Alice"

"Why don't you go the other side Judy and you can serve the sugar and milk?"  Harper asks.

"Is this better Miss Bossy Boots?"  Judy says cheekily to Harper

"Well you did say I could play Mum!" retorts Harper who likes to take control...

Judy glares at Harper thinking there could be problems here...as she too likes to take control...must be their fiery red hair!  Let's hope sparks don't fly...

In the meantime Jane listens in on the story Alice is reading Amelia...

Holiday with Henry - The Red Twins Arrive!

Henry, the boys and the girls have all been excited since they heard that The Red Twins, Harper and Harry were coming to visit them and stay for a while.  What they didn't know was quite when they would arrive.  Such a surprise when there was a knock at the door this morning and a box was handed over...

"Oh my, this looks like one of the travel boxes I came in",  says April...

"Quick let's open it up and see who is inside."  Jane says excitedly.

"Did Mum say we were getting another brother or sister?" asks April

"I wouldn't think so", said Henry. "I think you and Saffron are the last to arrive for a while..."

"Hello, anybody in there?"

"Yes, its me", a voice replies.

"Gosh it is a bit hard clambering out of here isn't it?"

"Here I'll help you", volunteers Henry.

"Oh you must be Harper", the girls chorused, as Harper stands there looking rather dazed and dizzy after her journey.

"I think you must have stood up too fast", says Jane wisely...that's what happens to Mum sometimes if she stands up too quickly, she gets dizzy.

"Shhh", said Henry.  "I'm trying to hear if there is anyone else in there.  Aren't you supposed to be travelling with Harry?"

"I'm sure he was with me", Harper replies, as the girls all approach the box to have a look

"There look, whose head is that?!"

"Surprise!" Harry calls as he jumps up and waves to Henry, while Henry waves back.

"Hey, you got out of the there quickly", Henry says

Bear Hug....

After that slightly 'manly' show of affection the boys stand off from each other bit and survey each other.

"You're taller than me", Henry says while looking up at Harry. "And I think you are going to be cold in those shorts and sandals, the weather is terrible and apparently it is going to get colder this weekend."

Harry looks out of the window worriedly.
"Never mind", Henry reassures Harry.  "I'm sure I've got something you can borrow, or my Mum will make you something warmer.

In the meantime Jane seems fascinated by Harper's hair colour.

"Look your hair is so much darker red than mine."

April looks on shyly, while Harper has a slightly apprehensive, but also slightly stubborn look on her face...

"We should do a hair comparison...we have got other red headed sisters in our family...come on lets go and meet the rest of the girls...", Jane and April say together and they wander off...asking lots of questions and talking...

"How long are you staying for?"
"How old are you?"
"I like your dress it really suits you"
