Autumn Leaves

Autumn leaves come falling down
Tumbling softly to the ground
Reds and yellows and golden browns,
Autumn leaves come falling down.

Henry has lots of fun gathering up the leaves.

Marcia

Marcia, my little Gotz No Nose girl is wearing the little outfit she arrived in as she said it was perfectly suitable for autumn.

She would quite like a beret in neutral colours, perhaps to bring out the browns in her dress.

Dressing for Autumn.

So a week has gone by since the tea party was held in honour of Ryder and his last day.  So what have the family here been up to since I wonder?

Well the girls decided it was far too cold for summer dresses and have all been changing into warmer clothing.

Liebe and BJ look well wrapped up in casual wear.

They both agree it is cold enough to need to wear hats as well!

Victoria has swapped her pink Mondrian dress for this pretty pink dress.

Emily has nabbed the clothes that Weaver arrived in (as she is wearing something else) and is admiring the matching pink hydrangeas.

Yes I took a lot of sweet Emily as she has felt a bit left out of late.

Sally is still wearing her lovely smocked dress I bought at the Sasha Festival and has teamed it with a gorgeous matching jacket.

Emily is pleased to have her Henry to herself again...and they enjoy a walk together.

They return from their walk full of ideas...

Rory snug and warm for Autumn

Rory is all nice and snug for this cold Autumnal weather.

He has enjoyed a quick walk around the garden looking for frogs.  I explained that he wasn't likely to find any, but he wanted to check just in case.

Monica finds her own dress

Monica found a dress to wear herself, as she said she couldn't possibly wait for me to make her one as it is too cold already!  This dress was in a bundle of dresses I won on ebay for my Natterer doll, which weren't quite what I was hoping they would be, but as it turns out, this one doesn't look too bad on Monica and it will do until I have time to make her something.

I think she quite liked the fact it had a basket and a bag with it.

So all the girls dressed for Autumn.

Victoria is warmer now.

I remembered I had this little dress in my sewing basket waiting for a popper to be sewn on, so I promptly sewed it on so Victoria had a warmer dress to wear.  She seems quite happy with it.  I was going to put her Dolly Blue Pink Shoes on, but yes, you guessed it another odd shoe!  I think it must be with the Blue Suede Boot!

This lovely blonde with two toned hair is my 1969/70 mint in tube, never been played with (until she arrived here!) still smells like new Sasha.

I like the fact that her left eyebrow is raised slightly.

Now I only have Monica waiting for an autumn outfit.

Some more winter wear.

The rest of the girls in their warmer wear (all but two who are waiting for some outfits to be made for them!)

Whoops, these two dresses could have done with an iron!

A different look for Cora who normally wears dresses...

You've lost WHAT?

What do you mean you can't find it?  April asks Saffron in shocked voice

I just can't.  I have looked EVERYwhere...  Saffron replies

Well, you better try again  April tells Saffron.  Mum will be furious otherwise!  If you kept your room tidier you would probably be able to find it.

I try to.  Saffron says, looking very sad and sorry for herself. It is just SO difficult!

In the meantime how have the other girls got on with finding some warmer clothes to wear?

Kendal and Amber have chosen a couple of nice warm dresses...

Julia and Judy are favouring their dolly doodles outfits.  Although I think Julia must have put on weight as they wouldn't do up and the popper came off!  Whoops!

The rest of the girls are busy trying to decide what to wear as well, but there seems to be general confusion and chaos reigning as Saffron has rummaged through all their clothes and shoes trying to find her 'blue suede boot'!

More Autumn Swap Pictures

I realised today that I hadn't posted the photos of the items I sent to Rochelle for the Autumn Swap.  I was waiting for her to receive them and then I forgot all about it.  So here they are modelled by Sasha, who would have liked to keep them, but understood that sometimes it is nice to give to other people.

A Halloween fabric skirt and short sleeve shirt with 'Autumn Leaves' for buttons.

Matching trousers and a snug warm cardigan.

I loved the way this cardigan knitted up...it is the only one I have made so far as seem to be struggling with my knitting since as my arm has been misbehaving, but hoping to get back to various projects on the go.

While we are on the subject of swaps, I hope everyone is making good progress with their Sasha Secret Santa Swap.  'Santa' has been busy here in the workshop and the gifts are nearly ready to be packaged up and sent on their way.
