A little sewing

I haven't been doing a lot of sewing lately for Sasha - I have been sewing for other dolls instead.  But recently made these two Christmas dresses.

Gingerbread men modelled by the gorgeous Marcia.

'Merry Christmas' modelled by the lovely Stevie.

I have also been working on my Secret Santa Swap gifts - almost ready to post now.

How are other swappers getting on?

Valentines Swap - One

The first few photos of the Valentines Swap.

I made a reversible pinafore

Little heart fabric with heart buttons - this is the lighter side

and the redder side.  I was paired with Janet.

Paloma tries it on, first the lighter...

and then the darker...she decides the darker suits her best.

I also sent a little set of valentines cards - teeny tiny style, but forgot to photograph them.

The lovely gift that I received from Janet

Which suits my wild child Ziva perfectly!

Lesley received a wonderful quilt from her partner Carol

Looks like someone is snug underneath it already!  Imogen seems very happy with her new quilt.

So far so wonderful fun gifts, looking forward to seeing more!

Valentines Day Swap

Valentine's Day is approaching and Sasha and Gregor are excited...will they get a Valentines Day surprise?

This swap will be for a gift for Sasha or Gregor and a little extra something - a Valentine Card, a Valentine Sweet, whatever your imagination can come up with. (But only ONE extra please)

I am going to do this swap a little differently - to see how it works!

This is a 'complete the swap and get a partner on the due date' swap.

Sign up by emailing me that you want to join in, get to work making a gift and then email me again to confirm your gift is ready by 30th January, please included your full name, address and email details.

If you forget to let me know, then you may not receive a partner.

I will update this page with the list of swap partners on 31st January as well as email you with your partners details.

Once you have received your gift, please email me a picture to include on the blog and post pictures in the Valentines Day Gift folder in the Yahoo Groups if you wish to.

Please also let me know if you have any allergies - some may not eat chocolate for example, which is a common little 'extra' for Valentines Day.

Please Note:  Send your item marked as a gift with a low value to those overseas please.

This information also has its own dedicated page with list of participants here.

Secret Santa Swap - Posting Day!

Goodness where did this month go?

Today is supposed to be the last posting date for those Secret Santa Gifts, especially if being sent overseas.

I have to admit that mine won't be sent until Monday due to an awful pain flare-up the last two weeks which put a bit of an abrupt stop to sewing and knitting.

I hope everyone else is on track.  I have heard from a few people to say their gifts are on the way, but still many to confirm posting.

Autumn Pinafore Swap - Part Four

The swaps are arriving and I must say what amazing variety and imagination everyone has had.

I think they have really achieved making this a fabulous fun swap!

First up we have the pinafores made by partners Gillian and Betty.

Gillian sent this lovely Autumn/Fall inspired pinafore and top to Betty.

Cute little buttons

Gillian used a batik fabric with the purples and rusts.
She beaded the outline of one of the flowers for a little sparkle.

Doesn't the beading make the flower look fabulous?!

(Sorry about the smallest of the photos but if I enlarge them they loose clarity).

Next up we have the outfit that Betty sent Gillian

Gillian writes:

"Here is Sasha in her brand new pinafore, tights,  blouse, apple for the teacher, and, OMG, saddle shoes!!!  The pinafore is made of a soft black and white fabric with a design just the right size and the blouse is so clever! The sleeves are stuffed to keep them puffed.  The other girls are so jealous."

Isn't that just the perfect pinafore outfit?

Brigitte and Joan were partners...

Brigitte sent a photo of her pinafore as a work in progress which I thought was really fun thing to do!

Just have to love these colours, aren't they wonderful?

Here it is on Joan's lovely Harlequin girl.

Doesn't she just look so pretty in these colours?

Next up is the outfit that Joan sent to Brigitte.

This is the photo that Joan sent me with her girl modelling the outfit.

Below we have Brigitte's lovely Cora wearing the outfit.

Doesn't it look absolutely stunning on her - the dark skin really suits the vibrancy of the reds.

Really super pinafores ladies, thank you so much for sharing!

Autumn Pinafore Swap - Part Two

Anne of Sasha Commoneo was paired with Anna of Doll Mum's blog for the Pinafore swap.  They both had a lot of fun and added a slight 'twist' to their swap and have just blogged about what they did for their swaps. Anne's is  here and Anna's post is here.  Please do check out their blogs as they have a lot more photos!

They decided to make two pinafore outfits and then offer the choice to their partner.  A lot of work by the looks of these fantastic outfits!

These are the two pinafores Anna made for Anne to chose from:

Below we have the two pinafores that Anne made for Anna to chose from:

But do we know which ones they each chose yet?

Which one would you chose if you had the choice?  Gosh what a hard decision!

Autumn Pinafore Swap - Part One

I hope everyone is enjoying themselves making their Pinafores for the Autumn Swap.  There is still plenty of time to get it finished and posted, but I thought I would show a couple of photos received from two early birds who have both sent and received their swaps so far.  I have also received a couple of other photos, but I don't think that both sides of the swap have finished so will wait until confirmed so as not to spoil any surprises.

Kathy and Sheila were partnered and this is what they sent each other.

Kathy sent this lovely floral pinafore to Sheila (shown on Kathy's girl)

Just lovely.

Sheila sent this to Kathy who is absolutely delighted with it.

Very cute, I love the extra little touches with the Sasha embroidered along the hemline and the little hanky in the pocket - very cute.

Well done Kathy and Sheila these are great!
