Happy St George's Day

Last year Henry got right into the spirit of celebrating St George's day and I have copied the post below as I am not sure whether we will have any time for such things today...disappointed though Henry may be at still not having his Suit of Armour!

Henry threw himself into the whole St George's Day celebration today...donning himself in a pair of red and white shorts...although he grumbled about not having a plain red pair...and arming himself with a sword, posters and my ornamental dragon teapot.

What are you doing Henry?

I'm fighting the dragon Mum

I'm not sure a little dragon looks that convincing Henry!

But I look good with my sword don't I?

Yes indeed you do Henry, although I think you could probably do with some armour to go with that!

I made a shield Mum, but forgot to use it!

Oh well at least you will be prepared if you ever come across a big dragon.

Yikes! Henry exclaims as Mum wanders off and a HUGE dragon breathing fire swoops down...

I wish I hadn't forgot to wear my shield now, and I WISH Mum would hurry and make my suit of armour!

Fortunately Henry survives his encounter with the dragon to fight and play another day!

Happy St George's Day everyone!

Of course we can't forget with the Sasha Festival coming up that today is also the anniversary of the death of William Shakespeare who died 23rd April 1616

  1. Yes, I had remembered that it was St George's Day today.... though I forgot in time to send my daughter her yearly card.

Henry is looking very Patriotic in his red and white and seems to be enjoying playing 'slaying' the dragon.

Happy St George's Day to you and 'Dear' Henry too and to anyone else looking in here who is English.

    1. I had various things 'planned' in my head, but none came to fruition as yesterday was a bit of a wipe out as is today. But still fun revisiting an old post :-)

  2. Happy St Georges Day to you too Lorraine....and Henry too of course!
Henry does look very patriotic in all his red and white!
    Hugs Sharon in Spain xx
