Some scheming by a determined young lady.

For those who may have missed the antics going on, on my other blog, involving Peggy Sue and her desire to go with Henry to the Sasha Festival I have reposted the posts here...

Day One:

Peggy Sue was overheard having a discussion with Henry today...

What do you mean I can't go to the Sash Festival because I'm not a Sasha?

That hardly seems fair...I can wear Sasha dresses...as this was bought at the Sasha Festival last year.

Is there a problem with my hair?  It isn't falling....

Well I am going to ask Mum then!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Day Two:
So if Mum sees how good I am with the babies, maybe THEN she will let me go to the Sasha Festival...after all technically speaking Henry isn't a Sasha he is a Gregor! (Thanks Aunty Jenni for letting me know that fact!)  Plus there is a special baby night, so she will NEED me won't she?
Would you like me to push you Amelia?
 There you go, isn't that fun. Now which of you little munchkins are going to the Festival?
WHAT'S that Alfie?! Both of you...
Oh I don't think so!
I think Mum is still trying to decide which of you to take.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Day Three:

Henry finds Peggy Sue out in the garden with all the babies...

What are you doing?  Henry asks Peggy Sue

Practising.  Peggy Sue answers Henry.

Practising what?  Asks Henry.

Why, baby sitting of course.  Peggy Sue tells him as if he should automatically know.

But why?  A very puzzled Henry asks.

Well because I need to show that I am really profishent...good at it.  She tells him.

But anyone can babysit!  Just look they will do exactly what I say... Henry says with ever such a slight scoffing sound to his voice.

Ginger George has other things more interesting on his mind..

Well it doesn't look like they are ALL doing EXACTLY as you say!  Peggy Sue informs him.

Just look Ginger George is completely distracted.  Watch me...

Georgie...pay attention, would you like me to tell you all a story and then play with you?

All heads turn and look at Peggy Sue

But that is cheating! Henry tells Peggy Sue.

No it is not.  It is called focussing their attention...I heard Mum say something about how important it was to make sure the focus was on you before you try and get something done.  Or at least I think that is what she said.  Peggy Sue explains.

Hi there Georgie, there's a good boy.  Do you want me to lift you up?  Peggy Sue asks.

Henry talks to Amelia and Isaac...  It's just because he has red hair like Rory...

Shall I help you?  Peggy Sue gives some attention to Ginger George who seems rather taken by her.

 A little while later...

You really are determined aren't you Peggy Sue?  Henry asks.

Yes, and why shouldn't I be?  You can't have ALL the fun you know. Says Peggy  Sue.

I want to see the world as well.

Henry looks intently at Peggy Sue, not quite sure what to think of this very determined little girl.

Peggy Sue and Henry continue their discussion while the babies play.

Sometime later, after Peggy Sue has taken the babies back inside, her and Henry are seen to be still deep in discussion.

So what do you think?  How possible do you think it will be?  Peggy Sue asks Henry

I really don't know Peggy Sue. It is a after all a 'Sasha Festival'   Henry tries to explain.

Yes but as Auntie Jenni pointed out technically you aren't a Sasha either, you are a Gregor!  Peggy Sue exclaims.

Yes, but we are made from the same mold, it is just some of us became boys and some girls...  Henry starts to broach dangerous ground with this comment.

But how? The all inquisitive Peggy Sue asks.

Well, I don't know...I think you had better ask Mum about things like that!  Henry mutters...

Oh I see...  Peggy Sue says, although she doesn't really understand...

Anyway, she also said um, that you were a lot heavier than us! Henry comes up with what he thinks is a trump reply!  Even more dangerous ground Henry!

Yeah, but I am not!  Besides, it is not polite to talk about a girls weight like that.  Retorts Peggy Sue.

Henry looks a little confused.

I won't take up much room...I'll only need about this much space on the plane...

See, just about as wide as my body, so I can sit down..

We could sit together Henry, what do you think?  After all we are a very similar height and size.

There, it is settled then... Peggy Sue states.

Henry looks a bit bewildered by it all...he is still smiling though, as he is convinced she won't be allowed to go....

  1. My SECOND attempt at leaving a comment as was just finishing off my previus one when my internet kicked me off when closing down to restart after its update.
    An interesting post about Peggy-Sue's determined 'to go to the Sasha festival argument' and I have to admit (although not keen on the look of them) that her arm double-joints do totally enhance her body language here.
    Whilst I agree with her points and facts I have to side with 'Dear' Henry that she shouldn't be allowed to attend with it being a SASHA Doll Festival..... as she would be taking up the space that would enable a Sasha girl to go.
    Great idea to have a baby night as these little tots rarely get to be in the limelight at these events. I'd be interested to hear your final decision on which baby, Alfie or Amelia, goes with you and Henry.
    Wishing you all a safe and pleasant jouirney out and a wonderful time there.

    1. I've been having problems with various things on the internet recently and then discovered it was my naughty mouse playing up. I now have a new (borrowed) one and wow what a difference it makes...I can actually click on things and it works! Yes Peggy Sue can be very expressive through the use of her limbs and body movements and that is something I really love about her. Pretty she is not, but she seems to have a few brains tucked in there...and looks aren't everything!

      She wouldn't be taking up space a Sasha girl would take as I probably wouldn't be taking a Sasha girl anyway. Henry and a baby is what I am determined to take...just finding it hard to decide who to choose between Alfie and Amelia. Amelia admittedly has more clothes...so wouldn't have to appear in the same outfit everyday! She also has the ever so cute suit that I received last year in the gift exchange... Oh too hard, making decisions...they both look at me with that ever so appealing way the babies have and I am stumped!

    2. NOT taking a Sasha girl?!?! Oh dear, that doesn't sound too good to me! Supposing the Festival gift is a Sasha outfit? Wouldn't you want to be trying it on a Sasha straight away?.....(and I'm sure that 'Dear' Henry wouldn't want to be involved with that task.....though this could well be seen as an excuse to purchase a Sasha whilst out there!)

      IF only Henry is definitely going then I think a GIRL (therefore baby Amelia) would be a good second choice of doll to accompany you......especially as she has a range of outfits to wear. (To make it up to Alfie you could bring him a little surprise back with you.)

    3. Ha ha Kendal, I thought that statement would cause a bit of a shock to you! ;-) Oh I really am quite wicked aren't I? Seriously though it is all to do with space...and I will be bringing a girl back with me, although she isn't mine she is coming to stay with Henry for a couple of weeks and then moving on to stay with others in the UK and other places doing some travelling along the way...eventually ending up in Dallas next year. So have to be aware of what I will be carrying back. Not intending to buy any dolls while over there...I really am quite happy with what I have, but hey never say never eh? So I have to work out how heavy my hand luggage bag is before I can make the final decision...the allowance is so low and I would only have the dolls in my carry on luggage, not risk them in the hold luggage.

      I certainly do hope to bring an outfit or two back for dear little Alfie if he doesn't come with me :-)

    4. Peggy Sue certainly has attitude. I think she should accompany you. She seems as though she would make it a real "learning experience". I like her!

  2. I know she couldn't actually take part in the festival, but I do wish she could go onthe plane and perhaps do a spot of babysitting in the hotel bedroom! The problem is, Kendal, that there are no special events for Shoenhut girls and there IS a Hitty lady going.
    Oh, but Peggy Sue, what about Little Owen? Wouldn't he miss you? Perhaps your Mum should just bring you a special present back? You DO look wonderful in the dress you've been wearing. You would look great in light blue gingham too. If you can't go, Emrys and James will send you and Owen a special 'not for Sashas' parcel when Mum is back to receive it.
    (Am I getting too involved in dolly and teddy feelings and emotions??!)

    1. Oh I don't think Peggy Sue has even given a thought to Little Owen...she probably assumes that if she is going he will go as well! Mind you, he seems to be very occupied lately with other things...not sure if he has met a lady bear friend, or is busy learning soldiering tactics from Henry's Trojan Bear...or whether they are still trying to work out what his name is! That is very kind of Emrys and James to send Peggy Sue and Little Owen a special 'not for Sashas' parcel...she may well be swayed by that...who knows? (Getting too involved in doll and teddy feelings and emotions? Is that possible?)

    1. Thank you Theresa, glad you enjoyed this story...not sure what she is going to get up to next! Hmmm...with all the things I have to take over for people I am not even sure there will be room for my clothes! How small can you curl up? ;-)

  4. Very determined young lady that Peggy Sue, I think she should be allowed to travel to the Festival if her Mum wishes to expose her to the heat of Arizona!
    P.S. Love this little story and the pictures!

    1. Oh yes, she is certainly one determined young lady indeed. Not sure whether the heat would be a problem or not...probably no more than it would be for a plastic doll...which goes soft in the heat.

  5. Very sweet post of the babies. I love watching their sweet heads as they look from Henry to Peggy Sue :). It will be hard to pick who will go to the Festival but I wish you all the best as you make the decision :) xx
