Day Two continued...After lunch we set off to cross the Seine river to make our way towards the Lourve which we needed to walk through to get to the park and make our way to the Champs Elysées.
We decided to cross over the Ponts des Arts bridge where lovers' have been sticking 'cadenas d'amour' (love padlocks) to the railings.
Despite them being removed by officials once, the locks have returned and are more plentiful than before and look like they are there to stay.
Henry was fascinated by them and had a good look at all the different types.
He especially liked this lock, thinking it most interesting.

The Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel was built on the site of the former Tuileries Place between 1806 and 1808 to commemorate Napolean's military victories of the previous year.

Wonderful seeing all the details that had unfortunately faded in my mind over time.
Would dearly love, although the mobility issues wouldn't allow, to re-visit all these superb famous landmarks again.

I have loved every one of your photos of Paris, it was almost as good as being there too! I loved the bridge with all the padlocks and Henry being admired by so many....what a little poser he is! LOL....glad you all had a great time!
