Secret Santa Swap Gifts Revealed - Part One.

Something we have all been waiting for, the grand reveal of all the wonderful gifts received from their Secret (and not probably not so secret) Santa.  Some gifts are still to be received, but everyone has sent their parcels so I am just hoping they have been delayed in the Christmas post and not gone AWOL.

Everyone has done remarkably well and it is quite obvious a lot of thought and care has been put into the assembly of the gifts and I think I can speak for everyone when I say that we are all thrilled with our gifts and thank our Secret Santa's very much for the kindness and generosity.

First up we have the gifts received by Anna  from Margaret.  Anna is fairly new to the world of Sasha and has her own lovely blog which can be  found here.  This is what she wrote to me about the swap

Thank you Lorraine for organising the swap - it was the first time I've participated in such a thing online, and I really enjoyed making items to send (and I'm glad they went down well) and receiving a surprise for my dolls from someone else. Most of us don't expect to ever meet the people on this forum because we're all around the world, so taking part in the swap was a good way of getting to know people in the Sasha world a little better.

It is the first time I have organised a swap on this scale and actually the only the second time I have organised a swap, a I think it has worked out quite well.  I boldly volunteered on the Sasha-Mart Yahoo group little realising quite what work was involved, but it has been worth it, and has certainly kept me busy.

Anyway on to the photos.

Gregor (Nicholas James) wearing a great NOEL jumper and jeans.

Wonderful hat, jumper and pants for Gregor, & Christmas heart that Anna sent to Ginger.

Pink Dress & Peter's knitted hat.

I managed to escape into the sewing room for a little while this morning, which was nice.  Having got up early to take my car for its MOT and Service, I thought I might as well make the most of the early morning start to the day.  I made a little pink dress out of some linen fabric I had, adding some lace and ric rac trim.

I realised Bethany, my Pale 60s Gotz Sasha hadn't had a chance to model anything for a while and I thought the colour would suit her quite well.

I love her shoes, made by Dollyblue, they go with the dress very well.

I forgot that I hadn't shown Peter's hat that I made to go with his jumper.  I added a little red pompom on (at his request ;-) !)

The first of the Sasha Secret Santa Gift Blog post will be tomorrow, so don't forget to check back in to see the wonderful gifts that people gave and received.

Lovely Blonde Sasha for Sale

Before I list this lovely Sasha on Ebay, I thought I would offer her for sale on here.  She is on my Dolls for Sale page as well.  If you would like to purchase her please email me on lorraine(@)takaro.co.uk  removing the brackets ( ) from around the @.

This pretty Sasha doll dates from between 1975 & 1986 and is in lovely condition.  She has lovely wavy blonde hair with no missing plugs and blue eyes and is wearing a pretty handmade long sleeve dress which has elasticated cuffs, a lined bodice and overlocked/serged seams.  She comes wearing her dress, panties, shoes and socks.  She has a ring neck mechanism with white stringing to the arms, brown to the legs and she can hold a pose nicely.  She also has a silver wrist tag.

Comes from a smoke free home.

I would prefer payment by cheque in the UK, and Paypal for the rest of the world.

Postage & packing  is £10.00 recorded in UK.  If it works out at less I am happy to refund the difference.

For overseas buyers please contact me for the cost of postage.

Blonde Sasha £150.00 or £140.00 nude.

Christmas Gift and Christmas Makes

I was very lucky this Christmas as I received a lovely gift from Kendal which I put under the tree ready for Christmas day.

Cute card a little box with a ribbon around it.

Oh wow, a wonderful pair of Jean Jensen's shoes for Sasha.

I knew just the dress they were going to go with.

Sasha's Christmas dress goes perfectly with the shoes.

Aren't they wonderful?  Thank you very much Kendal for your kindness.

I made a Christmas jumper for James my 68/69 Red head Gregor Shorts

Which I think he looks very smart in.

Although the colours don't match completely with his Christmas trousers, I think being Christmas we can get away with it.

Today I finished a dress I had started before Christmas made with some velvet and silk scraps I had been given.

Of course the problem with black velvet is it shows up every little speck of dust!

I hope everyone had a really lovely Christmas Day.

I will be doing a blog post very soon of the various Secret Santa gifts that people received, so if you haven't yet sent me photos, please do, and also I haven't heard from a few people whether they have received their gifts...I do hope they have.

Some Christmas knitting

I've just finished knitting a jumper from a pattern available on the Sasha Mart by Joan.

It was a lovely pattern to knit, starting at the top and knitting down from the top and all in one piece, nice and simple and quick to knit, just the way I like them.

It fits really well too.

I love the shaping of the raglan sleeves.

Now working on a hat to go with it.

Christmas Countdown

The Sasha's are really getting into the spirit of Christmas and spend a lot of time round the tree, tweaking it here and there, adding a few more decorations.

Santa and his sleigh came round last night, but unfortunately they were all tucked up in bed so didn't see him.

I took a photo for them instead.

Sasha Secret Santa Swap Update & Some Sewing

It has been so cold today, but at least the wind has died down, not that we have had anything as bad as they have had up north.  I've been doing a little knitting and have made a cute little short sleeve cardigan, just need to sew a button on, and then I will take a photo of it.

The Secret Santa Gifts are arriving...don't forget to let me know when they arrive and also confirm that you have sent your parcels, those who haven't yet contacted me.  If you could send me photographs of the gifts please that would be wonderful so I can do a big blog post about them just after Christmas.

I have been doing some more sewing.

Monica my 1971 Trendon Sasha I bought from Shelly in the summer is modelling the newest Christmas dress, 'Holly & Berries'

She is such a pretty girl.

Next up is Serena my Blonde 1970 Blue Cord Sasha modelling a pretty dress made in a very fine delicate fabric that I was given at my quilting group.  It has quite a soft silky feel to it.

I love these soft pastel colours on a blonde I think they suit her so well....I should have changed her shoes though!

Henry's new cardigan & some more dresses for sale.

I finished Henry's new cardigan this afternoon and he seems quite taken with it.

I used variegated sock yarn...yes I was supposed to be making myself a pair of socks with it, but decided on a cardigan for Henry instead.  Not sure if I would make a cardigan again though with this sort of wool as I'm not sure I like the 'uneven' effect.  I don't mind it on a jumper, but with a cardigan, not so keen.

I've also finished some more dresses.

Amber is modelling 'Zen Blossom', a pretty long sleeve dress with elasticated cuffs.

Next we have 'Country Holiday'

Perfect for the Christmas/Winter season with its snowmen, ice skates and mittens.

Lastly a very pretty dress made with Ozark calico in soft green, a colour not often seen on Sasha, but looks lovely on her.

Very hard to get the true colour to show though unfortunately in the winter light.

All three dresses are now sold thank you.
