Another Goodbye

I never got to say goodbye and this makes me want to cry
My lovely friend who was always by my side died while I was away
My heart breaks when I think of him and not being with him at the end is something I am still trying to come to terms with, I feel like I let him down.  I told him how much I loved him on the phone...and he groaned his reply - he always groaned (his version of a purr) to me.  I hope he knew what I was saying.
I'm so sorry I wasn't with you my dear Pirate, you will forever be in my heart.

Henry goes for a walk in the woods

Henry went for a lovely in the woods today.

He took his trusty hound Sherlock (yes Humphrey has been renamed...seems Henry is now a Sherlock fan!  We also remembered that Bobby has a guinea pig called Humphrey,,,)

They saw lots of acorns on the ground.

Over the bridge.

Sherlock seems to have smelt something...

Henry has found some fungi and stops to see if he can identify it.

Oh look a little slug on one of them.

Well spotted Henry.

It really was the most perfect morning for a walk in the woods.

A new boy in town....

All Henry's friends are busy today doing other things...so he thought he would take Humphrey for a walk.  He took Ollie with him as well, as he wanted to tell Ollie all about their new guest who was going to be arriving soon to have a holiday with them.

Ollie listens intently while Henry explains that he must be polite and well behaved when the guest arrives.  He tells Ollie that her name is Pinny, and at first Ollie is disappointed, hoping for a boy to play with, he thinks girls don't do 'boy' things.  Henry explains that he understands that Pinny might in fact be quite adventurous, and that it is up to them to encourage her to try new things.

As they are walking along, they come across a stranger.

Ollie is a bit unsure at first as he has never met anyone quite like this boy before.  He thinks to himself that Rory has similar hair, but well just not same as this lad.

The new boy holds out his hand to shake Henry's.

How do you do?  He says to Henry.

Hi, replies Henry. I'm Henry and this is Ollie my little brother.  My dog's name is Humphrey.  Who are you and  where have you come from?

The new boy points vaguely in the direction of all the noisy traffic....I THINK I came along that big motorway road...but I can't be certain as I had to travel incognito in a box!

In a box? Henry exclaims...Wow that must have been some journey.  Who are you anyway, and what are you doing here?  I'm expecting a guest, but I'm pretty certain you aren't her as I have seen a photo of my guest and you don't look a bit like her!

Oh I am not a guest, the boy replies....I am the new boy!

The new boy?  I didn't know we were getting any new family members, we have just had to say goodbye to a whole lot.  This is QUITE unexpected for sure.  Henry is quite startled and confused.

Well apparently your Mum was able to allow a new member of the family to move in, and well she saw me and how could she deny me a new home? After all I am quite posh! The boy tells Henry quite smugly.

Henry looks a bit uncertain....

But being the kind hearted boy he is, he welcomes him warmly and suggests that they go for a walk together to get to know each other better.

So what is your name?  Henry asks as they are walking along.

I'm Francis Fearless, the boy replies...

Francis FEARLESS?  Henry asks with a slight raise of his eyebrows....

Yes that is correct replies Francis...I'm FEARLESS because I had to wait patiently for nearly a year for a home, and then I bravely hopped in the box without a second thought...so I must be FEARLESS!  The boy tells Henry and Ollie, with only the logic a young boy can have...

Well I think we will just call you Francis, Henry replies.

Henry gets up to mischief....

Looking outside today, Henry was dismayed to see it was yet again dreary, wet and miserable!

What to do he wondered?

I know, he thought, I will set up my own Facebook account!

Hmmm...not sure he was old enough, but set up one he did.  Have laptop, will google, facebook and email...

You can find him here.

Later in the day there was a brief lull in the weather - still drizzle, but light enough to go out for a walk with Emily and Humphrey.

In the garden

What are you doing in here Humphrey?

Have you found something?

Going for a walk.

It was such a lovely afternoon, that Henry decided to leave alone the dare devil antics alone for the day and take his little brother Ollie and his dog Humphrey for a walk instead.

Ollie seems quite taken with Humphrey.

Where are we going?

Henry continues checking on the garden, and a comparison.

Henry continues to check out the garden spring growth, accompanied by Humphrey his faithful friend.

Oh look the rhubarb is finally starting to grow after almost two years of no growth!  That will be lovely with apples....yummmy apple and rhubarb crumble.

The primroses are looking pretty...hmmm looks like Humphrey has spotted all the weeds!

A comparison photo of my Sylvia Natterer girl side by side with Victoria, my 1970 Sasha girl.

Although there is a height difference it is nearly all in the length of the legs as their body sizes are very similar indeed.

Molly thought it was warm outside.

Molly saw the sun shining today and thought it would be warm....after all it is almost the end of March!

She donned this pretty little dress that was received in the first Sasha Swap I took part in

I don't think she stayed out there long before she hurried back in with Rufus.

I've also updated my 'Other Dolls for Sale' page.  You never know you might be interested in offering someone a new home ;-)

Happy St Patrick's Day, Happy Birthday!

Not only is it St Patrick's day today, but our very own Patrick turned 15 years old today.

Sasha and Peter wish 'Patrick' a very happy birthday and a very happy St Paddy's day.

Peter loves lying his head on Patrick's thick fur.

They both give him cuddles before their 'official'  birthday photograph.

Happy Birthday and Happy St Patrick's Day.

Our real live Patrick, renamed Shadow!  Happy Birthday - 15 years old today!
