For Sale: Black Haired Sasha/Gregor Course Doll Boy.

Gorgeous Sasha Course Doll Boy.  This lad is in good condition with nice clean tricot.  He does have one small repair to his body as shown in the photograph below.  His real hair wig is stitched in place and his face paint is vibrant and he has a cute splash of freckles.  He comes wearing a dungarees outfit by Thu Cuc Faes and a vintage faux fur coat.  £500 plus postage free postage in the UK.

For Sale: Blonde Sasha Recovered Studio/Course Doll

Lovely Sasha Course Doll for sale.

£500 plus postage.  (May be negotiable)

This was her description when I bought her from Shelly:

1952 AI Re-covered Studio/course Doll . This sweet faced young lady is one of the earliest true Sasha dolls however she was in such a bad way she has been totally restored though her original body and stuffing with newspapers dating her are inside her full recovered body and head . Vintage fabrics have been used and original patterns , this has all been very expertly done by Thu Cuc Faes who has also tried to retain the original eye style of this young lady . She has been given a new wig made of Hemp which she would have also originally worn. Her outfit also made by Thu Cuc suits her perfectly

I have her sandals, I just couldn't find them when I photographed her!.

These two photos for illustration purposes only to show how I have had her dressed.

Her body is in good clean order.

Her outfit, currently missing her sandals.

Photos taken a couple of years ago.

She is a really lovely Course doll and I will be sad to see her go, but sometimes that is just a way, and it will be nice for someone else to enjoy her like I have done.

Introducing Joel

A third Course boy arrived late last year in November.  For some reason I don't seem to have taken any 'arrival' photos of him which is most unusual.  He came wearing his red sweater, scarf and a pair of black corduroy trousers.

I changed him into a pair of denim overalls and made him a pair of shoes.

His hair isn't the best, but it is his original so at present I am keeping him as he is.

His name is Joel.

He has quite soft features.

His new shoes.

Blue Monday

Monday Blues?

Not here, just celebrating the rise in barometric pressure and a lovely blue sky and warm day.

Blues on Mondays...

Just love this girl...she is my 'dream' Course girl...the one I had imagined when I first discovered these dolls back in 2011/12.

Introducing Jasper

Continuing with my series of introducing my 2015 dolls I realised that I had actually introduced several of them, although not necessarily their arrival photos, so here we have:

Jasper my Autumnal boy who was introduced on 3rd October last year and you can see the post here.  I never posted his 'arrival' photos though so here they are.

He came wearing this fabulous corduroy outfit that consists of trousers and jacket with shirt.  I made his leather shoes.

A close up of his face.

Sitting with his siblings, Jacob and Jemima

With his new brother Jacob.

and a photo from the October post.

Plus three new photos of my dear Jasper.

Introducing Jacob.

Continuing on with my series of introducing the Sasha & Gregor dolls that arrived last year:

Jacob, the first course doll to arrive here at Rose Cottage was never formally introduced, although he did feature in some posts last year...

He arrived in April 2015, almost exactly a year ago, so it seems quite fitting to introduce him formally this April.

He enjoyed getting out in the garden today and is most definitely looking forward to warmer weather and spending more time outside with the other lads.

He has a smattering of freckles across his nose.

Here is his arrival photo.  Rather overdressed for Spring! Perhaps he knew in advance last year that our summer was going to be virtually non-existent?!

Here you can see his freckles better.

He couldn't wait to shed his warm coat and get outside.  Although not especially an ideal colour for outdoor play....fortunately before long he had changed into something more suitable.

Of course these photos have been seen before when he was tadpole spotting with Jemima

He tried a spot of apple picking here.

I wonder what he will get up to this year?

A New Dress for Jemima

Still working on Jemima's wardrobe - although this dress wasn't originally planned for her, she is very happy to have ended up with it and I am really pleased with it.  Of course trying to get true colour representation at the moment with the poor light we have is another matter!

Only four days left in January and I still need to make her some underwear!  Must get cracking.

Introducing Jemima

I have finally finished this post which has been some time in the planning!

I was very selective with my Sasha purchases last year, with only one being spontaneous and one other being well.... almost spontaneous....  All were on my 'wish list' which was also good.  I have done a group collage, but am going to save that photo for the end.

I am going to introduce them slowly over the course of the year - about one a month probably in order to focus on them and take time to enjoy them.  I think sometimes we can get swooped up in the world of collecting that we forget to spend time with our dolls and before we know it another one is joining the family.  My aim this year as mentioned before is to try and focus on what I have and to try and not add to the family...although no promises as most who are in this hobby know just what a slippery slope it can be!

The first is of course my lovely Course doll Jemima who has already appeared here, but not been properly introduced.

She was described as an AI Re-covered Studio/Course doll from 1952 and one of the earliest true Sasha dolls.  Sadly though she was in such a bad way she needed to be totally restored although her original body and stuffing with newspapers dating her are inside her full recovered head and body.  She was also given a new hemp hair wig and clothing made with vintage fabrics.

Here are her arrival photos.  She couldn't wait to get out and explore the garden

She enjoyed hanging about the pond

It wasn't soon before Jacob joined her tadpole watching.

It has only been recently that I have started to get to really know her as I have started to work on her wardrobe - she is my 'Doll of the Month' to focus on.  Of course as I get to spend more time with her, I get to know her better.  I don't especially like her lip paint - but hey, not all our facial features are perfect and she can't help hers and I don't like to change anything unless it was absolutely necessary.

Of course I have already posted some photos of her already this month...

Her first new dress received for Christmas, made by myself.  I also made her shoes.

A two piece knitted outfit made by myself.

Taking a pause from reading...

This sweet girl is quiet and studious, but is also curious about the world around her.

Her 'siblings' are Jacob, Jasper & Joel (Still to be introduced)

I am really enjoying her very much.
