Sasha Dolls 2016

So I did manage to reduce the number of Sasha dolls that entered Rose Cottage this year... however we won't talk about the non-Sasha dolls that DID enter the house!

Two boys, Two Course, One Repaint and One baby - so a total of six dolls.

All of which have been introduced with the exception of the baby which I bought at the Sasha Festival this year - seems I never completed blogging about the Sasha Festival - must have run out of steam - so forgot all about her!

Baby Meike  - who sadly didn't get a formal introduction as I got her at the Sasha Festival and for one reason or another never quite finished my Festival posts!

Next year things are changing in many ways - or at least that is the plan.  Some, perhaps more than a few, dolls will be looking for homes and leaving for pastures new.  It will probably be a slow process as I don't want to rush into such changes.  I am looking forward though to putting the ideas I have been and am still formulating into practice and seeing the results. I am looking forward to amalgamating my blogs and making things a bit easier and thus more enjoyable to me.

I am really hoping that 2017 is going to be my year of 'Less is More'

Ideas...

I have been spending the last few days filling pages of A4 paper, with ideas, plans, working on characters and trying to work out a new name for a combined blog which is proving much harder than I thought!  Trying to get something short, catchy and memorable, and also related to what I do and what my blogs are about, is not quite as easy as it sounds!  

I was a little surprised that not many girls were really mentioned in relation to this blog post 'Most Memorable Characters'.  Does this mean I focus more on the boys (which I know I do to some extent) or that my girl characters are less memorable? (not including Peggy Sue of course)  There is at least one girl who I was surprised didn't get a mention.  Although only a few people have commented so far, so perhaps not all have seen the post yet.

In the meantime it seems Henry and Peggy Sue also have some ideas of their own!  They are joined by Rory and the new boy Donny, who has been following Henry round like a lost shadow as he is a little unsure of just where he fits in to the family.

I found my puppet Henry!  Someone had hidden it from me, I feel I haven't seen it for years!  Rory informs Henry,

I am sure they didn't Rory.  Henry reassures him.

Yes they did, I bet it was the twins!  Rory replies.  Anyway have you got Puppet Theatre down on your list?  

Of course he has.  Peggy Sue says.  Look.

It is right here at the top of the list.  Henry tells Rory.

Where?  Rory asks.

Right here, see.  Henry shows him.

Oh okay.  Rory says.

Do you have any other ideas?  Peggy Sue asks.

The four discuss other ideas.  The boys naturally are hoping that more work will be done on their Tree House this year...

Peggy Sue agrees as she too thinks the tree house is fun.

But you are not allowed to get up to any mischief Peggy Sue.  Henry says remembering the Halloween surprise that Peggy Sue and Alice were roped into by the girls last year.

What about a puppet theatre Henry?  Rory asks.

Peggy Sue puts her hand to her head and says in exasperation, We already have that on the list Rory!

See, right there, top of the list... and she points to it.

Oh yeah... I just wanted to make sure.  Rory says in a small voice.

Donny just stares at Peggy Sue in amazement.

He has never met anyone quite like her before!

Advent 2016 - Day Twenty One

Hi there, you must be my new family.  The boy says as he approaches.

Hi!  Rory and Henry say.  What is your name?

I'm Donny.  The new boy tells them.  Am I in time to open this Advent Calendar I have heard about?

You sure are.  Henry reassures him.

They all look for the number 21.

I think I spy it up there.  Donny says.

Yup, that's it alright.  Now how to get up there.

He uses the box and steadies himself on it.

Checks he has the right number.

Opens the window.

Rory and Henry watch on, wondering what today's package will be.

Oh look!

This package has green bits in it.

I think it might be a tree. Rory suggests.

Could be. Henry agrees.

Let's get it open then.  Donny says.

Yes, lots of green bits.  I am pretty sure this is going to be a tree.  Donny says to the boys.

Henry watches over Donny's shoulder as he makes up the little tree.

That's what yesterday's items must be for.  Henry says.  They are presents for underneath the tree.

Strange though as normally the tree comes first THEN the presents!

They all agree, that really the tree should have come before the presents...but it was still fun working out what they were.

Welcoming Donny

A Wedding Anniversary gift from my husband sees this lovely boy join the family of boys here at Rose Cottage.  

Non-falling hair - always a bonus!

He has the most lovely face.

He wanted to change into a different sweater to open the Advent Calendar today.  We just need to equip him with a warmer pair of footwear as well.

Such a sweet face.
