Advent 2016 - Day Twenty Two

Good morning Oliver, Henry says as he greets Oliver William.

Hello Henry.

You ready to open the window today?  Henry asks.

If you will help me find it.  Replies Oliver William.

Of course I will.  Henry says.

Oliver lends a steadying hand as Oliver stands on the box to find the little window for today.

He reaches over with Henry's help.

Just a bit higher Henry.  Oliver says...

Here we go.  Henry holds Oliver William steady.

What have you got there?  He asks.

I don't know.  Oliver replies.  Lots of little pieces.

I think there is a little dog in there.  He tells Henry.

All mine!  Oliver William says as he clutches the package.

No, you need to share them Oliver, but you can play with them and all the other pieces as well that make up the scene.  Henry explains.

Oh, okay, if I have to.  Oliver William says.

Look it is a little dog!

Isn't it sweet?

There are even a couple of bones for the dog.

I'm going to put him here Henry.  Oliver William tells Henry.

Come then Oliver, shall I help you down?  Henry asks.

Yes please.  Oliver William replies.

Easy does it.

Can we stay and play a while Henry?

Of course we can.

A Summer Music Festival.

Hey guess what?  Henry asks the girls.

What? They chorus

There is going to be a Summer Music Festival.  He tells them.

It should be lots of fun!  He says.  Are any of you interested?

Well I don't play anything... Maddison says.  But I can sing.  Of course I WOULD play Bass Guitar or Drums but we don't have EITHER of those.

Drums?  Stevie asks doubtfully.

Bass Guitar?!  Emily says...'Yeah okay Maddison.

It's true, I'm a natural!  Maddison retorts.

Peggy Sue thinks it is best to intervene and distract them before things get out of hand.  Well I play 'cello and saxophone, although mainly 'cello of late.

I must get practising.

Emily looks on...I can do any organising she says.  I am quite good at that.  Oh and baking, I like baking.  What about Edith?  Will she play her flute?

If we can find it.  Henry says.  Edith is worried she might have left it at school.  She is rather distraught at the moment.

Currently we have the following instruments available, guitar, piano, violin - I think that is Anne-Marie's, and a clarinet.

Lots of discussions ensue about who is going to play what and wondering what the programme will be like.  Apparently they have to submit what they will be playing for the concert programme in time for the printing.

Advent 2015 - Day Twenty One

Hi Henry, I was wondering if Oliver William could open the Advent window today?  Peggy Sue asks.

Absolutely.  Henry replies.

Oliver, you need to find the little door with the number 21 on it.  That is a two and a one together.  Peggy Sue explains.

Here it is!  Oliver William says as he spots it.

Yes, that is right.  Peggy Sue says.

Open it up.

Oliver William opens the little door and to his delight sees a treasure chest inside.

Wowee, that is neat!  Henry says.

A treasure chest!  What fun.  Peggy Sue agrees as Oliver William holds it for them both to see.

Pop it down on the little scene Oliver.  Peggy Sue says.  Perhaps over there.

Oliver William kneels down....

Holding the chest ever so carefully.

There, is that okay?  He asks.

Just perfect.  Henry tells him.

I wonder if there is any treasure in it? Oliver William asks.

That will probably come in another window.  Henry replies.

Who is going to open that?  Oliver asks Henry.

I think it will be Junior.  Henry tells him.

Junior?  Peggy Sue asks?  You mean he is coming to visit?

Yes, tomorrow.  Henry says.  He is even going to be able to stay a while.

Wow, fantastic!  Peggy Sue says.  She explains to little Oliver William that Junior lives with a friend of hers.

They are all excited about having a visitor come and stay for a while.
