Henry at Windsor Castle

On Tuesday we went to Windsor Castle for the day.  The morning was bright and clear and we arrived in time for the Changing of the Guards much to Henry's delight.

Henry enjoyed watching the band and guards march by.

He was amazed by the size of the castle.

It really is impressive

I think Henry was rather awe struck by it all.

One of the wardens was delighted to pose with Henry.

Wow!  It is so big!  Henry exclaims.

These gardens much look really spectacular in spring and summer.

Of course all little boys like canons and Henry is no different.

We marvelled at the dolls house and all the wonderful accessories and Henry was amazed that the Princess's dolls also had their own cars...he wants one even more now!

Come on, can we go in now?

Unfortunately no photography was allowed inside.

Henry has another look at the guard.

My friend Jill enjoyed her day out with us.

I think this guard is eyeing Henry suspiciously!

Just before we left we spotted the perfect photo opportunity...Henry rushed over to stand with the guard.

He was very impressed I am sure!

Henry also came home with a special something which he will show tomorrow.

Can it be?

Hmm....what do we have here?  Henry wonders to himself.

Suddenly he gets all excited.

Bobby!  Come here!  Henry calls.

Bobby wanders over.  Is that what I think it is?  He asks.

Oh I do hope so, says Henry.

Rory, come quick!  Henry calls out again.

Rory comes over, Henry calls for anyone else that might be hanging around.  The excitement at finding a huge tub of Celebrations.

Perhaps Mum is going to let us celebrate Halloween after all?  Rory suggests.

She must be!  Most unlike her though as she always says 'We Don't Do Halloween' and she has already stuck the Police notice up on the door.  Henry informs them.

Bobby kneels down, Here help me open it, I'll lift the lid up to you Henry.

WHAT?!  They all look rather stunned.

GUINEA PIG FOOD!  WHAT is that doing in here?

Must be a trick.

Nah, I think it is what those people dropped off the other day, and Mum must have forgotten to take it out to the Cavy Lodge.

Phooey!

Oh dear oh dear, three very disappointed boys.  Especially Rory...

Never mind Rory, Bobby gives him a pat on the back.  Come on lets go and play before dinner time.

Found!

Saffron looked very nonchalant today, casually leaning against the wall.  She certainly looks less worried than she did a few days ago.

Oh I see why now!  You have found your boot!

Yes I have, cheers Saffron.  Aren't I a star?!

She dances around, Victoria comes along to see what all the fuss is about.

Hey Victoria, I see you found your missing shoe as well!  Now you can wear your pretty party shoes.

Both girls look a lot happier today.

Henry goes for a ride on Stratford

Henry has been having riding lessons and learning all about the care of horses.  He was very fortunately to be bought a horse at the Sasha Festival in July and has been fitting in lessons ever since.  His horse is a fine black gelding whose name is Stratford and he has been a fantastic and patient horse for Henry to learn on.

I'll have to remind Henry he isn't holding the reins quite right...

Need to bring those feet in a bit...Oh you were giving Stratford a kick were you?  Looks like you were trying to get him to go faster...

Don't lean too far back Henry, you aren't in an armchair!

That's it praise Stratford for his good work.

Are you going to take him back to his paddock now to give him a groom?

Careful now, it looks like Stratford is very keen to get going!
