Sasha Salon

Sasha went to the 'Sasha Salon' the other day (aka my kitchen sink!) and had some conditioning and 'boiling water' hair treatment.  She has quite thick hair but the fringe used to stick up a bit and it was starting to feel a little dry.  I did this with some trepidation as although I had read people had had good results doing this to their dolls, I hadn't yet tried it.

I think the treatment was a success...now whether to give her fringe a little trim to even it out is the question...

For now I will leave well enough alone though.

Now I need to pluck up the courage to use the conditioning spray on Ingrid's hair!

  1. You're very brave! I haven't tried boiling water on a Sasha yet, though I did this years ago when restyling Barbie dolls.
The result looks great. If she were my doll, I would probably leave the fringe as it is - but of course I've only seen her on photos.

    1. Very brave! It was rather scary, and I really hoped I wasn't going to ruin her hair... I will probably leave her fringe as is as well...it is who she is :-)

  2. I did it on a doll who had "nothing to lose" so I wasn't terribly nervous about it. I can see that if it is a special doll, it would be quite a bit more nerve wracking!! Mine turned out well, too, so that bolsters the confidence, too, doesn't it?! lol! I'd leave well enough alone on the fringe, but that's just me!

    1. It was actually reading about your success that gave me the confidence! I'm going to leave the fringe, I would probably only mess it up anyway!

  3. This brings to mind stories of my sister-in-law getting her bangs cut as a child. My mother-in-law would put a piece of that pink hair tape (do they even make that anymore?) across them to use as a guide. Despite her best efforts, they always turned out crooked. I think some little girls just always have crooked bangs.

    1. Love to hear stories from the past. My grandmother actually DID put a bowl on my Mum and her sister's heads to cut their hair when they were children - yikes! Can you imagine anyone doing that now? ha ha.

  4. Your Sasha is beautiful and so nice that you were so brave to give her the boil treatment. She looks lovely in her pretty dress. Whether to trim her bangs is a good question. I wish you well with deciding how to proceed. :) xxx
