Advent 2016 - Day Five

Hi Gwilym.  Peggy Sue says.

Hi Peggy Sue.  Gwilym replies.  He asks,   Are you going to open a window today?

Yes please!  Peggy Sue replies.

She kneels down on the floor to open the window for today.

Number five!  She says.

Don't lose balance!  Henry says.

I'm okay, she replies...I've got something...

Ooh, I've got Lego pieces to make.  Peggy Sue says as the boys look on.

I've put them together...they make a sledge bike thing... Peggy Sue says as she looks up at Henry, while Gwilym looks on.

She puts it down on the little scene ready for someone to ride.

Advent 2016 - Day Four

Francis wants to open the window for today and the boys gather round to see what will be behind the little window.

He opens the window

and reaches inside.

I need to sit down to make this.  He tells the boys.

Now how do I get inside this packet?  He ponders.

Gosh, what do I have here?  He asks.

Looks like a body...

Yay, I got a man as well and he is blowing on a trumpet kind of thing.  Francis says as he looks at his creation.

A funny trumpet.  Edward notes...

I'm going to put him down here, with the other guy.  Francis says as he gets down on the floor to put the little man down.

Advent 2016 - Day Three

My turn today. Henry says as he looks for window number three.

Aha, here it is!  He says as he opens the window.

He reaches inside as Gwilym and Edward watch.

More making...this is fun.  Henry says as he looks at the pieces he has to put together.

I wonder what they will be?

A speaker and a microphone!  He says.

Looks like everyone will be able to hear the music...

Advent 2016 - Day Two

Day Two!  Can I open the window today?  Asks Gwilym?

Of course. Henry replies.  See if you can find it.

Here it is!  Gwilym says as he opens the little window.

He has to stretch over the little display to reach it.

Oh, what do you have there?  Henry asks.

Lots of pieces!  Replies Gwilym.

Now how do they go together?  He says as he looks at them.

Ta Da!  You have done it!  Edward says.

Hey, this is pretty cool.  Gwilym states as he looks at the little man holding the guitar.

Looks like it is going to be a musical Christmas!  Funny, though he seems to be a fireman...

A close up of the little Lego man.

The boys put him on the scene and discuss how different it is to their usual Playmobile Advent Calendars.

It is fun making them, but it is a little strange.  Edward says.

Perhaps because we are used to Playmobile.  Henry suggests.

To do it properly you've got to do it right!

Hi guys, what are you doing?  Peggy Sue asks

The boys tell her about their new outfits and how they are going to 'Save the World'

Well you have your hats on wrong!  She tells them.  Haven't you actually watched any Thunderbirds?

Of course we have. Henry tells her.

Well you've put your hat on the wrong way round Henry.  It should go this way.  She tells him as she tries to demonstrate.  Yours is wrong as well Rory.

Here this is how it goes.  She leans over and adjusts Rory's hat.

The boys watch on....

That is better.  Peggy Sue tells them.  You have to get it right you know.

The boys feel a little sheepish at having got it wrong AND being told so by a GIRL

The all start to adjust their hats.

Yes, that is better!  You look just the ticket now.  She tells them.

Thomas looks at her...she is rather a strange girl at times, he thinks to himself.

Line up and then you will look much more 'professional'.  Peggy Sue suggests.

How do you know all this stuff?  Thomas asks.

I just do.  Peggy Sue replies.

The boys think perhaps they will just do as Peggy Sue says as then she will leave them alone to play.

Shall we stand here?  Thomas and Gwilym ask as they stand in place.

Yes, that looks good.  Peggy Sue says.  Rory and Francis, you stand slightly in front but closer together and then Henry you stand in the middle.

It takes a few moments, but eventually the boys get into position.

Peggy Sue stands in front of them.  Henry, lift your head up a little you look sad otherwise.

That's better!  She claps her hands.  You look great now!

The boys all inwardly breath a sigh of relief....perhaps Peggy Sue will go off and do something else now and leave them to play.  They turn towards her....

Heads facing forward for a photo.  She tells them.

They pose for a photo.

They have to admit, even if only to themselves, they feel much more like 'professionals' now :-)

Thunderbirds are Go!
