Emily modelling on Saturday

Well what a wet and miserable day it is today, the light is bad, but the sewing studio beckoned. A simple little dress was made today with a square neck collar and hand crocheted lace around the neck line. I will probably make a little blouse to go underneath this dress, but Emily, ever my keen model wanted to try it on straight away, so here she is.

She really enjoys trying on and showing off new dresses.

Fluorescent light really doesn't help the photography, however she still looks lovely in the new dress.

Blue floral fun.

I've been practising my shirring skills again and have made a pretty summer dress modelled by Angela.

This fabric really suits shirring and hangs so nicely.

Now just need to make one as a gift for a friend.

I also thought I would try making a reversible coat today.

I procrastinated for ages over which fabric to use, finally deciding on a blue cord and blue floral with butterflies.

The light has really not been the best today for photography.

I'm really pleased with the way this pattern worked out and can definitely see myself making a few more coats with various trims next time.

Climbing trees is fun

The sun is out and it has stopped raining so the first thing that Oliver wanted to do once he'd dressed in his dungarees I'd just made him was a spot of tree climbing.

It's a long way up!

I'm the king of the castle...surveying his domain.

Now how do I get down?

Careful it is a long way down.

That's it, take it slowly.

Feet firmly on the ground again.

Oliver is an early 70/71 Trendon Gregor.

A bit of fun.

I've not done a lot of crafting since the weekend, just not quite felt up to it, the pain has been getting to me a bit this week, however I have managed to make a couple of leggings today.

At the Sasha Fun Day the other week I bought a gorgeous jumper/dress made by Jane Woodbridge, and the leggings were made to match this dress. Quite funny seeing this jumper as I had just received a comment about my OTT colour combination of orange and pink and what did I see that Saturday? This fabulous jumper in just those same colours! Well how could I resist? ;-)

Liebe (1960s Gotz) is seen here modelling both the jumper and the leggings.

Wonderful colour combination!

Pink and orange, just what is needed to cheer us on a dreary and wet day.

The babies wanted a turn as well, so matched with some jumpers I won off evilbay some time ago, I whipped up a pair of leggings for the girl and a pair of jeans for the boy.

Quite a contrast in their skin colouring and hair!

The other outfit I bought at the SFD was a cute little play-suit made by Dollydoodles, seen here modelled by my blonde baby boy. I just love the colour blue so when I saw this I thought it was just perfect for the wee man.

He is very fond of his baby seal.

Such a sweetie, still in need of a name!

Forgot the black thread!

Once a month I have a quilting group I go to. I'm currently working on a quilt with New Zealand fabrics, (pictures here) however today I discovered I'd forgotten to take my black thread, so after I'd cut out birds in circles to appliqué on the quilt, I had to find something else to do. Much to the amusement of the other ladies there, out of my basket popped a couple of Sasha dolls. :-)

Making do with the fabrics that were in my bag, I made two dresses, mixing and matching the fabrics for fun. I think this dress is my favourite.

Although the softer colours also suit Sasha well.

Friends together.

Having a chat!

Red Gingham

I'm still experimenting with the gingham fabrics, this time trying some a little different, a little shirred sun-dress for Melody, with matching headband.

Just perfect for the 1st July and a lovely sunny day.
