The Wood Pile.

Not a good day for me today, migraine, nausea, the works...but Henry desperately wanted to go with my husband to work on the wood pile this afternoon, so I had to be reluctantly dragged along.

Great fun!

Shall we make a start here?  He asks.

Shortly after this, I got asked over to the neighbours for a cup of tea in the warm, so I left the 'men' to it!

A letter to Rory...

Rory was over the moon to get an email and photos for Ursula, Erica and Greg today and was so excited he wanted to share it with everyone else.

Dear Rory

We have been trying to get a photo of the frogs for you.

Last Saturday we thought we would go to the pond to look. As we arrived we could see there was someone else already there.

'Hey Greg what are you doing?'

'Erica keep your voice down, if you want to see the frogs you need to stand still and be quiet. If you move about they will see you and think you're a big bird come to eat them'

'Big bird??? What's he talking about?'

'Lets just look and see if we can spot them'

We looked and looked but all we could see was frog spawn.

Maybe Greg was right!?

Eventually we had to give up but Greg didn't come back to the house with us. In fact we didn't see him until much later when he came running into the house shouting
'Quick, put the plug in the bath'
Can you believe it, he had caught a frog.

'I know how much Rory was looking forward to seeing our frog so I thought this was the only way to photograph one!'

So Rory there's your photo as promised. You'll be glad to know that we didn't keep it there long and it's now safely back with the others in the pond.

Love from

Ursula, Erica and Greg

Thank you so much Ursula, Erica and Greg for your lovely email and photos.  Rory is thrilled and will be replying soon.

Grocery shopping and the Exploits of Little Ginger George

Henry and Emily want to go and get some shopping to help Mum out.  They are such a helpful pair.

Where do you think the trolley is Henry?  Emily asks.

I'm not sure.  Henry replies.  I think I heard Rory muttering something about a trolley earlier.

Oh yes, there it is over there!  Looks like Rory is giving Little Ginger George a ride.

The trolley is loaded up with Georgie, a monkey and of course Kermit.

Wheeee!  Cries Georgie

Emily and Henry quickly catch up with Rory and Georgie.

What are you doing Rory?  Henry asks.

Trying to keep Georgie out of trouble.  Rory replies.  You'd never guess what he got up to yesterday!

What did you get up to yesterday Georgie?  Emily asks with a rather stern look on her face.

Little Ginger George just giggles.

Although not for long as it turns out as Emily whisks him out of the trolley along with Monkey and Kermit.

Come on Henry, she says, lets go and get the shopping now.

Henry and Emily walk off leaving behind poor Rory....

Who does seem to have his hands full with Little Ginger George who is now on the ground wailing, waving and kicking his feet around.  Poor Rory, I don't think he quite realised what this 'little brother' of his would be like!

Later on...

Do you think we got everything?  Emily asks Henry.

Emily checks the trolley...

Looks like it. Lets go and put the stuff away and then we can go and play in the sunshine.  She says to Henry

Henry and Emily make a good team as they put things away.

Once everything is put away nicely they go out to enjoy the rest of the afternoon sunshine.

Now just WHAT did Little Ginger George get up too yesterday I wonder?

Hmmm...no wonder Rory was trying to keep him out of trouble today....I am sure he was not at all popular yesterday!

The "Judy" Sweater in Memory of Erica

The "Judy" Sweater in memory of Erica.

Made from 100% New Zealand Merino wool.

Rory & Little Ginger George

Hello young man, you must be Little Ginger George.  Rory says to little George

What?  You'd like to try and stand?  Okay then grab my hands.

Look at you, aren't you the clever little boy?!

Hey George, I don't think you are allowed out here yet, the grass is still really damp.

George!  You must come back!

Rory starts to panic as he races over to little Ginger George, fearing his new trousers my get ripped!

Georgie!  Rory shouts!

Little George turns slightly with a twinkle in his eye...he has an idea....

As Rory bends over to pick George up, George leaps on top of Rory, knocking him over.

Oh you little scallywag Georgie...  Rory giggles along with Little Ginger George.

Hmmm...butter wouldn't melt in his mouth looking at this photo!

Edited to add this photo which I forgot to add yesterday...

Who is the bigger monkey I wonder?

Meet Baby Ginger George

We are delighted to announce the arrival of Baby Ginger to our family.   I was supposed to wait for my birthday before having him 'properly' but hey, I am no good at suspense and surprises, so here he is!

I have had a baby Ginger on my list for a couple of years so was thrilled to finally be able to have one.

Meet Baby Ginger George!

He is wearing a pair of trousers that I made for him today.

Such a cutie and worth waiting for.

1st March - Alice

Meet Alice, my 1969 Kilt girl.  She has a sweet innocent face, but don't let that fool you!

She has a full centre part which is perfect for her plaits.

She likes to also wear her hair loose as well

I just love her eyes, she is so pretty...

Here she is wearing the school gymslip I made last year for the Sasha Festival photoshoot Laura and I did in one of the local villages.

She has actually been sent home from school early, so don't let these innocent looking poses fool you.

Can you guess why?

Any thoughts?

Yes that is right, for skateboarding in the playground!
